SONY 710 / 910 & Five since national retune day.

Just a heads up really.

I have a 910 and have it set to record Flash Forward every monday on Five. This is a backup incase my Sky HD box has a sulk (more common since Sky sent it some new software but that's another matter). As I guess most people will have done, I did a re-scan on Sept 30th. All channels were found and I thought that was that.

However, when a friend mentioned they had missed last monday's Flash Forward, I offered to burn them a DVD. When I looked at the programme list, I noticed the SONY had recorded it from channel 800. Channel 800 is the MHEG text saying Five has now moved please re-scan. It would seem that these boxes record channels from their stored multiplex position as opposed to recording from the logical channel number in the EPG listings. Thankfully, for my friend, Five are repeating Flash Forward tonight and again on Sunday.

If anyone else has repeating timer recording events set for Five or ITV3 & ITV4 you need to delete these and re-enter them (assuming you have done a re-scan first).

thanks for the info - i've been trying to record on Five, with a 710, sometimes it's okay - sometimes not. So if i re-enter timer settings it should be fine?

Sometimes when you try to watch Five on the 710 it just comes up with the re-tune message - any ideas what i can do ( Nb have re-tuned about 3x since 30.9.09 - it'll be fine for a shortwhile, then revert to re-tune message?Any ideas? ..thanks
