Just started reading The Boys by Garth Ennis, highly recommended.
I noticed they were on offer so bought the first couple and waiting on the rest to come through.

Supergod - Warren Ellis.

As usual, Ellis turns out a thought provoking story, with a very dry humored, very British slant. The first two issues are out now.

Damn Nation - 3 Issue Series

So far I've read Issue #1 and it's pretty good. The comic was written in 2005 and currently out of print. But the good news is that it's being turned into a major motion picture. Below is the plot from the comic:

Plot:
The United States' borders and ports are locked down against a terrible threat. However, the barbed wire and infantries are not positioned to keep an enemy out, but to protect the rest of the world from a vampire plague that's spread over every inch of the country.

Andrew Cosby, the creator of UPN's Haunted and the Sci-Fi network original series Eureka, and producer of the film version of Matt Wagner's Mage, teams with rising star and Eisner Award-nominee J. Alexander (Queen and Country) for a vampire epic of global proportions. Most of the living have fled the U.S., but a group of scientists remain behind, working on a cure. Now that they've succeeded, a military operation is launched from the President's current offices in the U.S. Embassy in London, to save the cure from the encroaching undead-but the real motivations of the military remain in question.

Just read the graphic novel of Damn Nation and it's a fantastic little story just wish it had been longer. The artwork adds to the story as well. Looking forward to the film if it's made, still no word on it, but fingers crossed.

I've been reading the collected edition of Jeff Smith's Bone. Great stuff. Just got his new book, RASL, and I'll be reading that next.

I've just started Neil Gaiman's Sandman: The Doll's House, after being given Preludes and Nocturnes for Christmas and finding it utterly brilliant! I think I'm going to need a bigger bookshelf to collect all 11 books, I love them

I'm just about to start on the latest Walking Dead trade.

Plus I also went mad on Amazon and ordered the Judge Dredd Complete Casefiles Vol 4*, Robohunter Vol 1 and Robusters Vol 1

Vol 3 is out of stock so I'll have to get it from my local comic shop for full price

Currently reading V, I have a lot of graphic novels that are on my to-read pile (rest of Watchmen, Sandman, many others).

Really want to start reading Fables, and Zombies looked to be a good one-off from what I read when I popped into Waterstones last week.

Having read & enjoyed the Star Wars Thrawn trilogy several times over the years I thought I'd get the comic version of the books so I ordered it from Amazon on Thursday. They only appeared to have it in paperback so I just ordered that, yet I was pleasantly surprised earlier today when I received the hardback version.

Just finished re-reading Alan Moore's "Top10" and "Smax": if there's a better written comic book than this, i've yet to see it. Moving, scary, terrific characters and very, very funny.

Alan Moore's "Supreme": leg-pull version of Superman complete with dog, girlfriend, fortress, robots, etc."
Ethan Crane is exposed to "Supremium" as a child, develops godlike superpowers and becomes a comic book writer whilst saving the world as "Supreme".
But why does our hero have huge gaps in his memory and why does he keeping meeting so many different versions of himself?
Clever stuff but without the tedium of "Promethea".

Grrr, my plan was to read Batman Year One followed by Man Who Laughs and then Long Halloween, in that order.

Finished Year One yesterday, have Long Halloween, but Man Who Laughs wont arrive till mid-week. So whilst I'm waiting for it I've started on Year 100.

I just finished the three books that make up Annihilation. I have to say, I really enjoyed them, and would like to get into the Nova series as a result.

I thought this was the best of his late period stuff. Even better than League of EG.

Also recommended is The Forty-Niners, the Top10 prequel.
