iPhone the best phone ever! - Who agrees?
Apple seem to be a very popular brand in the UK now, more recently due to the success of the iPhone. Of all the websites that have reviews of the iPhone, I've not really found many reviews that are in any way negative about the product.
Yes, there are limitations of what the iPhone can do out of the box without jailbreaking, but this is the case with all phones. You will always find some feature that is either not present in one phone or other and if it is then that feature is not of the standard the customer comes to expect. I'm just wondering what other people are thinking right now about the iPhone. Personally, I think it is the best £400 that I have ever spent. It is just like a PC in my pocket, I can connect to the internet pretty much wherever I go which gives me a lot of freedom in what I can then do with the phone such as browse the App Store which is getting better by the week, I can watch live TV while out and about, I can go on the excellent facebook application which is so brilliant simply due to the user interface design and then there is the iPhone interface itself. I feel that you can learn how to use the phone in very little time at all. Feel free to agree or disagree. I don't care too much, just looking for a decent debate here. I am particularly looking for replies from people who have actually experienced using the iPhone or iPod Touch rather than finding people slating the device when they haven't even used one. |

I just can't get along with touchscreen phones so I will never ever consider the iphone to be the best.

From the little bit that I have used it, the touch interface is very nice.
Personally, I can't justify paying for a device that doesn't have some basic things that many other phones do. For example, Bluetooth file transfer to other phones/devices, basic camera with no flash and no multi-tasking! Each to their own though. Phones these days have so many features that it is hard to say a certain phone is the best. Its all about what the user needs and for me the iPhone doesn't meet my needs. |

Bluetooth file transfer is something of the past I think. I'd very rarely want to send anyone anything via bluetooth due to how slow the transfer of a file would be. Though if jailbroken, Bluetooth file transfer is possible.
Yes, the camera is crap on the iPhone and it is the only sort of negative thing I have to say about it. I don't care too much about the camera anyway. It doesn't stop me thinking that it is the best phone for me at least. |

I might need to add that the blackberry are getting really popular. Nearly everyone on the London underground tubes have blackberry than the iPhones.

I think my Vodafone/Huawei 810 is the best phone ever
Had it almost 2 years and it has outlived 2 contract upgrades (soon to be a 3rd) (which is a record for me). Shame the buttons are cracking now. Would love an iPhone, but couldn't justify its price.

From having the iphone 2G and then the 3G I though I'd never change from them however got given a Blackberry Bold free from BT as a "good will" gesture and can't get enough of the phone! And I'm loving BBM with the barcodes

I have an ipod Touch. I love the browser, I love the facebook app, I love the ipod, I love youtube and the app store BUT I absolutely hate typing emails and hate the keyboard and it completely ruins it for me. I have a blackberry and much prefer it as a phone, push email is better and the keyboard is far superior so as a phone I don't agree that it's the best thing ever but as some sort of entertainment device then it's pretty good

I don't think I'd want an iPhone if I made a lot of calls, but for music, internet, games, apps etc it's still the most attractive option. |

It's the best phone i've ever had. I also have a blackberry and I dont like that at all. It was a big disapointment for me. The so called superior email facility isnt all that for me. The iphone meets me emailing needs and the on-screen keyboard is just as easy to use as the keypad on the blackberry. I also perfer my HTC touch diamond 2 to the blackberry I own.

The one thing that puts me off iPhones is the price. Far too expensive!

On paper, the best phone out there, in real life? Even better. I used to be an iPhone hater once upon a time and since getting my 3GS I have to concede that it is by far the best phone I have used, beats Android hands down.

On paper the best phone out there? One assumes reading was not a strong point for you. There are many phones that on paper are better than iPhone. in my opinion overall Android is better than OSX, OSX does somethings very well, but overall is not as good as Android |

800mhz capable processor, 256mb RAM, 32gb storage, OpenGL es? It is a very highly specced handset and in terms of speed, usability, expandability with regards to apps Android doesn't come close. I like Android, but it's still in it's infancy.
Try using an iPhone for more than 5 minutes before attacking me. i have had one for two weeks I'm not saying its better to use but on paper the 97 is a better handset, the Bold is a better handset, hero is, satio is....... |

I've got one of the original 2G iphones and a Palm Treo Pro as my work phone. In theory the Treo should absolutely blow the iphone out of the water - 3G, full bluetooth, GPS etc etc.
Yet I still use my iphone and the only thing I use the Treo for is as a modem for my laptop. The main thing people forget when they slate the iphone is that it's not just WHAT a phone does but HOW it does it. The HOW is why I use it all the time - it's just nice to use. It's the only phone I've ever had where I'll go online just because I'm bored rather than because I need to find out some information and that's because it's actually not a painful experience. Of course the 'HOW' factor is subjective so there will be people who don't like it (see the comments about keyboards for instance) but for me there's no question: the iphone is the best one out there. Just a shame I really can't justify the cost of the upgrade to the new ones really (I'm a tight bastard )
