How to improve signal?
I have a Samsung Tocco and I am on 3.
Where I live signal aint great so you have to have the phone in certain areas of the house to get signal. I have tried the signal booster stickers with no joy. Anything else I can try? |

I just read if you turn 3G off and go onto 2G, it can solve signal issues.
Is this ok? I won't be charged or anything for not using 3G will I by the 3 network? |

If you got the phone from Three then they usually restrict them so you can't set them to 2G/GSM only. If it isn't a Three phone then you will be fine. I set mine to GSM fairly regularly when I'm on the edge of 3G coverage.

Not sure about MSN?
You won't just need to upgrade the firmware, you will need to change the phones IMEI number (I think there is software to do this) to con the upgrade server into thinking your phone is a non-3 branded version. |

OP: if you change the handset's region code you can update the phone to have the latest firmware. not sure it'll do anything for your signal though. |

Try standing on a chair in a tin foil hat while on the phone. Just remember to take the hat off before leaving the house or you may become a target of the local youths who will call you tinfoil hat head and throw stones at you but I don't want to talk about that anymore it was a long time ago. I just wish they would leave me alone now.
