Why doesn't Craig get the public vote?

He is better then Jo and Joe but the public are saving those two and poor Craig is left to face the Dance off. I don't know what is going on with the voting lines because I tried to vote for Craig tonight but got the engaged tone several times, so in that 15mins there must be people unable to get through to save him.

I don't think he and Flavia have much chemistry when dancing together, and I think that's one of the main problems. His confidence seems to do him in a bit, too... I'd like to see a rehearsal version of his dances to see how well they do when not on the floor.

I never feel at ease when I watch Craig dance.

It all looks like too much of an ordeal and there's zero chemistry with Flavia.

How are we supposed to connect with them, if they can't connect with each other?

Away from the dancefloor I barely notice his presence.

he's very stiff and not very good.

Joe and Jo are only there because of sympathy vote. I expect that to evaporate within 2 weeks

He looks like a rabbit caught in the headlights when he`s dancing in front of the audience Wonder why he can`t use his acting skills to get him through ?

Perhaps the judges saving him may give him a little more confidence.

He comes across as very shy in his interviews and if you didn't know he was in the competition you could easily forget him. I like him, but I liked him as an actor before hand. But he hasn't really got the personality to stand out. His nerves get the best of him when he's dancing and he looks small and scared on the dance floor.

I think some of the dancers that are worse then him have bigger personalities. Jo & Brendan as a partnership is cute to watch and theres a few like that who you just love to see together. As much as I love Craig though he is too far in the background and as he is getting put into the bottom two he's losing more and more confidence instead of building more confidence. Its sad.

I hope so.

He is a quiet, nervous sort of chap who doesn't show much personality. I agree with the "rabbit in headlights" comment. I don't dislike him at all but I never really think about him and imagine others are the same. Jo Wood may not be a good dancer but she has presence. No comment about the other Joe, I can't imagine why he is still there unless it is support for Kristina.

I feel sorry for Craig because, unless someone is really, really awful next week, he will find himself in the dance off again.

Joe gets the sympathy vote in buckets (and the Welsh vote too according to some on here!)

Jo gets the middle aged womens vote.... (and boy, are THEY a force to be reckoned with on Strictly)

Craig isnt that famous to begin with... I dont watch Corrers- is he a big/charismatic character on there??

He's low profile, plus lacks charisma on the show, hes kinda one of those celebs you tend to forget about. Plus he looks so damned UNCOMFORTABLE whenever he dances...

So I think this all add up...

I give him 2 more weeks- max!

I'm a middle aged woman?

That's news to me

Maybe he needs to go to some relaxation, performance coach that'll teach him to forget the audience on Sat and just enjoy the dance as if its just himself and Flavia. I know they've succeeded with other celebs in the past.

Because he's rubbish. More to the point, why did he get the judge's vote? I don't get all that nonsense about voting for him because the bloke's part is more difficult because that's nonsense anyway. It's actually harder to have to copy what someone else is doing and do it all in time to the music than it is to have the lead. At least when having the lead you get to choose what happens and all that requires is a reasonable memory for the steps.

Only one couple pulled a good performance out of the hat in the dance off and showed they'd taken the criticism on board, and that was Linda and her partner. Yet they were voted off. If the judges are going to vote for men because leading is "harder" then they must vote off the woman every time there is a male celeb against a female celeb in the dance off, because the same will be true in all styles of dancing.

I'm pretty disgusted by that. Linda should still be in.

I do however agree that there are worse celebs, Joe in particular, and possibly Jo too. Jo has a story to tell and a bit of angst to give her a few votes. I'm not sure what Joe has got, but people probably feel sorry for him like they did for John Sergeant last year - because he's a bloke of course.

Needless to say none of that heartwarming compassion comes the way of Linda, because she is female and in her middle years too and as far as I'm aware has no sob-story but takes everything as it comes for the adventure that it is.

If theres a repeat of this week, and Joe and Jo avoid the dance off hes a gonner for cert next week.

He'd stay over Joe C, but I think we're gonna have to wait for him to go

Against Jo- I dont know. Id hazard a guess he'd go- I think 3 dance off's is enough....

Its v likely next week will be his last unless he avoids the dance off. he improved this week, but obviously lacks public support...

That's a bit harsh diva_moon. I agree with all the judges and it was very difficult to choose between Linda and Craig, but as leading is more difficult, I would say Craig just edged it.

Jo & Joe are getting the sympathy vote. The couples around Craig such as Chris and Tuffers have more personality. You also have the problem that with so many couples in at the moment support for a particular couple is very diluted unless they are VVV good or have bags loads of personality. If the voting was given out in figuers my guess would be that apart from 2 or 3 top folk (in the public vote) all the rest would be getting a similar number of votes.

Craig is falling through the cracks.....

He isnt a funny guy/entertainer on the dance floor
He isnt a hunk
He has nothing in his dances that stand out
He doesnt have a big fan base like Joe (no idea who is voting for Jo)

All of this might be overcome if he had any personality and chemistry with Flavia but he doesnt. He seems a nice guy but thats as far as it goes.

Agree with you there Bods Craig seems a nice enough sort of chap but he is so boring, he never smiles and he just cannot dance he just has not improved in all these weeks.
There is no chemistry with Flavia and I agree you have hit the nail on the head he looks so uncomfortable!!

He's boring, zero charisma, self absorbed and doesn't try to entertain. He should have gone tonight!

Well i think you have summed it up pretty much there Jan.... you have said just about everything i would have said, so i won't bother repeating it!,

I dont watch soaps so hadn't a clue who he was!, and as there is no personality there, there is nothing to make me want to vote for him!.....

He's dull and tedious to watch. Have lost patience with him now. Sorry.

I feel rather sorry for him. He seems like a nice bloke who wants to do his best, but he's too shy and nervous and serious. He needs to lighten up or he'll be out next week.

He has no chemistry with Flavia, he's awkward to watch and he doesn't have a massive personality to compensate. I imagine he'll be in the dance off next week because the public will continue to vote for Jo and Joe, even though they are clearly awful.

He seems so painfully nervous. I can't watch him.

I think he'll struggle next week as the two Jo(e)s will probably be doing Jive. A jive done badly will be even more likely to pull in the 'entertained by bad dances' vote than the Foxtrot.
