Is anyone else having problems accessing Digital Spy forums through their iPhone or other mobile device?

Since this morning I've been unable to access the forums and instead just see a blank page. I've tried through 3G & wifi and all other internet pages work, including DS main and news pages.

Any ideas?

I am having exactly the same problem with my Iphone.

It worked perfectly first thing til the forums went down.
Now I have had to log onto my PC to view and post this.

So relieved its not just me.

Ditto in the relief - I guess it means that it will get fixed some time then

DS's servers are notorious for being unreliable and regularly crash. It happens quite often with normal web access too.

So relieved it's not just me either.

The DS forums get me through my commute so quite missing these!

iPhone 3GS problems here - DS works fine, forums all just blank.

Yup white page for me when I click the forums, I'm on the 3 network with an iphone. It's something to do with the Digital Spy webserver, possibly to do with the browser agent detection or something.

Its working fine for me on a Nokia E90 using Opera and also with the Nokia Browser. Fine also on a Nokia 6303 with the OSS browser and Bolt 1.5

So I would expect its the rather flaky iPhone browser again.

I doubt it's the iphone browser, it's more likely to be something at DigitalSpy's end to do with how they choose to display pages for different browsers by detecting the browser agent that is sent with the request to the server.

Maybe a good samaritan needs to use the feedback / contact us section.

Hi,

Always been able to get on the forum, post etc from my I-phone until yesterday, but now when I try I keep getting the following error message:

Fatal error: call to undefined function makeurl()in

/home/www/sites/www/forums/integration/output_forum_advars.php on line 130

Really frustrating and unfathomable to me.

I can get on the home page, read all the news articles etc, but just not get on to the forum as I say.

Any ideas how to resolve this? I've tried resetting the network settings, resetting all settings, and simply turning the phone off then back on, but all to no avail.

Or perhaps I should be posting this in the computing section as it seems a computer error message rather than a phone problem? Any help would be gratefully received.

I'm having the same issue. Started yesterday and still having issues this morning. I have also reset all my network settings. It also would not connect via my wireless connection at home.

Yeah, I tried another (sports) forum I occasionally use as an experiment and got thru no problem.....it's only DS

So whose 'fault' is it? Apple or DS? Is it worth contacting forum support??

The forums here are generally slow today, and on a couple of occasions i've failed to get on them - and that's from a PC.

Been having the same problem. Last night I couldnt get on at all. Now it says theyre undergoing maintenance and you can only look at the news. At least its not just me with this problem.

Also been having the same problem. DS is also borked on both the PC and Mac versions of Opera, though in a different way (a variety of error messages causes every link on the page to stop working, though the initial page will at least load).

Phew! Thank you!

I was just logging on to post and join the convo. Again, fyi I am on a 3GS iPhone with no problems accessing until this weekend when I was suddenly greeted with the blank white screen in place of the forums (Sat night/Sunday morning).

No problems accessing the news section at all, in fact, when the forums were taken down for maintenance today, the news section automatically appeared in place of the blank page I was previously trying to view. After the forums were restored it returned to the blank page of doom. On the occasional refresh I have also had the same error message as Terrance Chant:

Fatal error: call to undefined function makeurl()in
/home/www/sites/www/forums/integration/output_forum_advars.php on line 130
Hope you can sort it soon and thanks for your efforts.

I am having the same problem, though I'm on an iPod Touch 2G. I get either a blank page or the fatal error message as described previously.

I've had the same problem since Sunday. Not sure whether it's to do with the latest software update or just a coincidence? Hope it's back up soon!

You should now be able to browse again via iPhone. Please let us know via http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/contact/forum/ should you experience any further problems.
