Embarrassed by Salsa dancing?

I really felt for some of the celebs this week, particularly Chris, when they have to overcome their demons and ‘be sexy’. I would be so self conscious!

I know it’s ultimately the same for everyone, but comparing how embarrassed Chris or Ali were at the beginning of the week compared to Ricky or Natalie, it’s such a bigger hurdle to jump.

Hats off to them!

As much as I like him, Chris's Salsa really made me squirm.

However, I couldn't do it, so I applaud the celebs for having a go.

It makes me wonder why the actors have trouble showing certain emotions etc.,

Surely they were taught that sort of thing in acting/drama school?

I can understand someone like Jade or Jo finding it difficult.

I thought Chris was great
He really did give it a good go and he comes across as a real sport.

I guess some men are happy to strut their stuff - Phil Tuffnell seems a natural and surprised me yet again with how well he moves his hips - but some are so far removed from their comfort zone, I am inclined to feel sorry for their Mrs when all they can offer is a teeny thrust and a little wiggle here and there lol

Yes, hats off to the guys and thanks for the efforts - it's great telly!

What was also annoying was Len constantly harping on about how much more difficult the foxtrot was.

Clearly some celebs find the "being sexy" part just as difficult as attempting a more technical dance, something grumpy old Len should acknowledge too. I suppose i'm trying to say that each dance is challenging to different celebs for different reasons, and just because the actual steps are easier, the performance isn't necessarily.

I thought Chris looked really uncomfy for the first 30 secs and then started to get into it - however, the judges only really looked at that first 30 secs and then switched off, IMO

I actually have no patience at all with the celebs who claim to find it 'embarrassing' to be shaking their stuff in such an all-out way.

Either you do your research when you sign up to SCD and realise what you may be required to do for your £50 grand or whatever it is, or you don't do your research and deserve all the toe-curling you get. 'Feeling self-conscious' is no excuse in my book.

Craig said on Breakfast this morning , that Chris has the jive this week , which should suit him better as he is compact !

I wasn't enamoured of most of the salsas; instead of fun and exciting , they were trying too hard to be sexy and sultry ; more lambada than salsa .

I liked Natalie and Vincnet , and Tuffers and I enjoyed Chris . I didn't care for Ricky's effort much but Ali and Brian gave us a good dance . I thought Ali found it very difficult .

Tuffers' salsa was both legendary and cringemaking in equal amounts. What a hero!

I thought all the celebs were great sports for entering into the fun of the Salsa. I'm sure they all know what they're signing up for and what will be required of them, but I'm sure it's a different matter trying to deliver.

I was amazed at Katya leaving Phil on his own for a good part of their salsa when she should have choreography a dance that would try and protect him, when he had such limited practice so soon after his op.

Being sexy is a difficult concept in dance, what is sexy to some may not be so to others. I thought Jade and Ian had the best salsa, apart from those campy red trousers of Ian

I can understand Chris but Ali and Ricky should be able to cope given that they are professional actors and should therefore be able to act the part.

He did a good job trying to be sexy and get into the spirit of it.

She gives 100% and is enjoying the dancing.

overcoming hurdles and being great sports you say... yes... but it is what they signed up for and, indeed, are getting paid for...
