Not sure if this is good or bad... still a month until release, each sale now is a sale less on its release week

Sales wise - Good. More chance of a 3rd single if this lingers around the top 40 for weeks rather than drop out straight away (*cough* Forever Is Over *cough*).

Chart position wise - Probably won't help it get to #1 considering alot of people have already downloaded it.

It's not my fave from the album..but the album is really good anyway so that's not a bad thing! Love this song WAY more than Forever Is Over, fingers crossed it will do well in the charts

Was just listening to Up - wouldn't really call it cheesy pop, really more an upbeat dance tune. Some of the remixes are far from cheesy. Okay the video was a bit naff but I still love that song a year later. Reminds me of my Economics lecturer in first year at uni (he's coming back from his sabbatical soon yay ). Anyway I hope Ego does well, anyone else going to buy it? I'm going to buy my copy the week its released to help the Sats get to #1. Hopefully whatever X Factor tripe is Christmas #1 will have moved down the charts by then.

The Saturdays performing it on GMTV on Monday 21st December.

They're also on Alan Carr, Ant and Dec and Blue Peter. ^ Not sure about the dates, though.

'Ego' at #35 on downloads alone this week with a release date still three weeks away.

They've performed this on GMTV, Alan Carr and Blue Peter and all three times have been mimed with alot of lines missing. They've performed half of 'Ego' and half a Xmas song with each performance.

Wish they'd get a chance to sing it live in full.

I like this song and I think it's strong enough to help album sales personally. But The saturdays have gone from my fav girlband to the least uniteresting people in the chart for me personally.

They don't deserve a #1 if they can't be arsed to sing live now and again That Blue Peter performance was pretty useless. Might as well have played the video instead.

Love this song Need to listen to the full album as well, so far only heard Forever is Over and Ego.

I'm hoping for a live performance soon.

Hopefully not one like they did on POG when they performed Forever is Over though. That was bad.

The popularity bars are posted on the buzzjack forums. There's a small gap between Chipmunk/The Saturdays but then there is a massive gap between Chipmunk/Ke$ha and the rest of the top 10.

DS Review-

Pop/rocky trailer single 'Forever Is Over' may have made number two, but it didn't do much for The Saturdays' second album. In fact, Wordshaker dropped out of the top 75 a mere three weeks after its October 12 release and has since suffered the embarrassment of being outsold by their 2008 debut, Chasing Lights, on several occasions. Little wonder they've returned to familiar electropop territory for the follow-up.

Sadly, 'Ego' demonstrates why LP#1 might remain more appealing to record-buyers than LP#2. The chorus is catchy enough, and the girls do well with the Let's Cut The Arrogant Sod Down To Size lyrics, but this lacks the spark and sense of freshness that made even Lights album tracks like 'Lies' so fantastic. "You need to have a sit down with your ego," they inform the titular bighead here. They, on the other hand, need to have a sit down with their label and get 'One Shot' - Wordshaker's stomping standout - confirmed as the next single.

3/5

I personally think Wordshaker is the stand out track! Ego should be at least 4/5!
