Do Phones 4u allow you to upgrade existing contract
Hi all,
I am currently on contract with Orange & am due for an upgrade in the next few months. I was wondering that if I saw a handset that was in phones 4u that wasn't in the Orange store, would I be able to upgrade in Phones 4u. I know that CPW offer this service, but wasn't sure for Phones 4u .Many Thanks DJM |

Unless things have changed from around 2 months ago, which is when i enquired at Phones 4 U for an upgrade on current orange contract, they told me all they could do was offer to buy me out my current contract so that i could start a new contract with Orange, they told me they dont do upgrades, i don't know if that is on all phones/operators, but that's what they told me when i wanted to upgrade to the white N97. Actually they did me a favour, heard the N97 isn't that good anyway.

Not sure why anyone would want to upgrade, buy a phone or contract from Phones4U. Heard a lot of bad stories about them, not so many on here recently but I think you end up paying the price in one way or another for taking a contract with them. They do good deals sometimes and that is where it all ends.
You are much better off going to one of the invididual network stores like an o2 shop to take out a new contract and then when it comes to upgrading, you can give your network a call, ask for a PAC, you speak to retentions and then they will do a deal that is much better than anything Phones4U can offer. I know a bit about that company and they are the sort of people that will sell you anything (good or crap) and generally, anyone that comes into the shop they will ask them if they can help, customer says I am interested in this contract phone then you are basically ordered to sit down and put on the spot a bit while a member of staff pushes a contract onto you. Upon release of the N97, they were doing a lot to push that out to customers. I remember them having some photocopied advert on the wall in one of their shops that had yes to all the specifications and features of the phone followed by a picture of the iPhone 3GS with a list of no's by it. They will buy out your contract though. I know that much. |
