Summer Of '69 - Bryan Adams
No Milk Today - Herman's Hermits Lysette Anthony (hubbahubba!) was in 80's sitcom Three Up Two Down, whilst NMT includes the line "just two up two down". Would've been better if the lyric was "three up...", but hey-ho.

No Milk Today - Herman's Hermits
It's My Party - Dave Stewart & Barbara Gaskin Dave Stewart was a founder member of the group Egg. Egg along with milk were the Milkman's bread & butter, tho Herman's milkman seemed to be laid up with some illness, sadly. |

The Bitterest Pill - The Jam
New England - Kirsty McColl "NE", written by Billy Bragg with "I put you on a pedestal, they put you on The Pill" which became "Though I put you on a pedestal, you put me on the pill" by Kirsty - so whereas the Jam song has Mr Weller in his usual cheerful form - "For the bitterest pill is mine to swallow The love I gave hangs in sad coloured, mocking shadows The bitterest pill is mine to take If I took if for a hundred years, I couldn't feel anymore ill!" both songs are somewhat about unrequited/dead love too. |
