Common People - Pulp

Eleanor Rigby - The Beatles

Connection: The video for 'Common People' features a homage to the Eleanor Rigby sequence from the film Yellow Submarine, with everyday people stuck in repeating loops lasting less than a second.

Eleanor Rigby - The Beatles
Rest In Peace - Extreme

IIRC, The Beatles took the song title Eleanor Rigby from a name on a gravestone. Obviously R.I.P could also be inscribed on a tombstone.

Hip Hip Hooray - the Troggs

I don't want to miss a thing - Aerosmith

link - the Troggs arguments during recording were the inspiration for the argument scenes in Spinal Tap and the Aerosmith as "Rock in a Hard Place" was inspiration for "Stonehenge".
