Blue Monday - New Order

1. Both bands are from Manchester.
2. Stephen Morrissey was the Smiths vocalist.
Stephen Morris was keyboardist with New Order

3. Bernard Sumner of New Order was in collaborative pop trio 'Electronic' with Johnny Marr (former Smiths guitarist)

4.Both bands debut singles were released in 1983.

Cruel Summer ('89 remix) - Bananarama



Both songs were chart follow-ups to a cover of The Beatles song 'Help!'
Tina Turners version of 'Help!' reached #40 & Bananaramas charity effort for Comic Relief made #3 five years later.

The music video for "Devil" shows Kelly Jones in an apartment, tied to a chair, Take That's video of their cover version of " How Deep Is Your Love" also shows the group tied to chairs

Ride A White Swan - T.Rex


Roy Wood was a vocalist with 'The Move' whose later hit was 'Brontosaurus' in 1970.
Later that year another big dinosaur (T.Rex) had a monstrous hit with 'Ride a White Swan'.

Don't Believe A Word - Third Eye Blind

Both songs have political tones, Madness's Mrs Hutchinson , criticised the National Health Service ,told the story of a woman who, after several misdiagnoses and mistreatment, became terminally ill.

Stephan Jenkins lead singer and songwriter for Third Eye Blind said the message of this song is not so relevant now Barack Obama, replaced George Bush as president, saying it was aimed at the deceit that went on at the time
