Alli, I know I am biased, but I thought this was the funniest review yet...
I have read it 3 times (Tuesdays a bad TV night) but I am still laughing an hour later...
Well done & keep it up, you need a regular sarcastic spot in the top broadsheets...

It's funny, but you don't have to be negative to be funny ...it's kind of the cheap way out

'.....a squadron of dancers that look like slightly camp IRA terrorists'.

Brilliant.

I have laughed so much I am crying, brilliant, witty and some of your points are hilarious, Dermot checking his trousers! crack of the whip, great. You have a way with words.

That was one good read, well done.

LMFAO !!! Yet again.. another fantastic blog ! Seriously cannot wait to read next weeks ! Loads of it made me laugh, but especially this:

''..Whatever it is, it’s a vast improvement on last night, mainly because she is allowed to just SING and not play Total Wipe-out with dangerous props or made to sashay around with Brian’s Troupe de Shite.''

HAHAHAH

"Does anyone else see the tiny blip of irony that this evening Simon has removed his black tie and has got his moobs out instead? Does this man understand the word “respect”? Although, thinking about it, maybe Stephen would have approved. RIP Stephen."

Nice touch - genuinely funny but not direspectful.

After reading 3 times, I still don't see any negativity, just a sense of humor we should all be blessed with...
I'm just sorry I didn't have more pics including Dermot in his suit & trousers to go with it...

Thank you. I was hoping that was how it came across.

No worries.

Incidentally, I've seen others here compare you to Grace Dent but have you ever read Clive James' Television reviews (so good they were published in three volumes) - he basically invented the blueprint for this style of review as the Observer critic in the 70s.

You do this far better than I could ever aspire to but I'm sure there some (more) tricks to be learned from the originator - his review of Abba winning the '74 Eurovision is a masterpiece of celebration of the gaudy ephemera of tv talent shows.

Could barely read the second half because I was still laughing about the group song piece. You crack me up Allie. The art of irony lives on and is in your safekeeping lol

I liked it, BUT I still don't get this hatred for Rikki. I understand people don't like him, but worse than The Twins and Lloyd he is not.

Thanks for that, I used to be a big Clive James fan, but Ive not read the TV Reviews. I will see if my library can get them in for me - sounds like a great read!

Thanks so much for your comments everyone. I REALLY do appreciate it!

I am TEMPTED to blog American Idol after Christmas but not sure yet....Will definitely be doing Britain's Got Talent though!

It is brilliant and spot on with every single point. Dannii was saved ultimately by something more serious gaining the press showbiz attention away from her.
