Sunday shows last year
Don't get me wrong, I much prefer how they're doing it this year, but why didn't SCD do a "proper" Sunday show last year like The X Factor are doing - that is, live, and with the phone lines closing during the show, rather than one recorded on the Saturday night meaning you could easily find out the result on sites like this?
Prohibitive costs of hiring Brucie two nights running? Apologies if this has been discussed at length already. |

Cost all down to money.
Didn't they used to leave the lines open all week? |

There is also the issue of it cutting into training time/rest time for the Pro's and celebs.
Some Pro's have Sunday as a rest day,for them and their celeb, to see their family and friends and completely recharge their batteries. Others start training for the next week immediately, I guess they also have to have time to map out their choreography. I remember Alesha trying to get Matt to work Sundays but he was adament that as they were doing 10 hours a day he needed his Sundays to relax. |

Didn't they used to leave the lines open all week? So they basically re-opened the lines for the following week after each dance-off? Bit ridiculous really - just makes it a popularity contest (well, more overtly than it is now!) |

I think it would be unfair to bring them all back on Sunday it is generally their only rest day from training. Therefore I perfer what happens now EXCEPT I wish they would do the lottery between the end of the dancing proper and the results to give people the chance to have a cup of tea and go to the loo without missing anything........and yes I know there is sky plus (which I do have) but I like to watch it live.

A mixture of things mentioned:
- It was considered very wasteful cost wise to get everyone back for Sunday. - Cuts into next week's training/resting time - Len and Bruno fly to the US on Sunday |

Apparently the dancers get their make up and hair done at nine on the saturday morning and the costumes take a lot of adjusting and fitting. It's such a big deal to prepare for the live show, it would be ridiculous to expect the same levels of energy or enthusiasm the morning after the night before.
