Between myself and my family we applied for 8 tickets between our households for Blackpool but we haven't heard anything yet. Really hope we manage to get tickets (even 2 would be fine!)

Why are they moving it back to Blackpool for one show? Any particular reason? Or is it just for the sake of it?

Craig was in the press last year saying Strictly should go back to its spiritual home of Blackpool and the local papers in Blackpool and the Council (I think) picked up on this and started a "Bring Strictly back to Blackpool" campaign and a lot of people signed the petition it would seem. Anyway, it must have worked . I love the Tower Ballroom although I also love the Empress Ballroom at the Winter Gardens and after attending a good few events at the Tower I can only imagine what the atmosphere will be like when Strictly comes back there.

In terms of why wasn't it moved permanently back there I can only guess that logistically it would have been a bit of a nightmare and not very cost effective over a period of 3 or so months. Many of the celebs and dancers not to mention Tess and Bruce are London/Home Counties based and travel to Blackpool each weekend would add to an already gruelling schedule. Although Len and Bruno do fly out to LA and back every week to do DWTS!

I do think myself it would have made a lot of sense to have the actual final at Blackpool seeing as it is where pretty much all the world championship dance festivals from ballroom/latin to disco freestyle and street dance are held. I just think it would have been very appropriate.

The BBC comes in for a lot of stick, much of it deserved, but Blackpool wasn't their fault.

I think its over 18s only... but might be wrong. Think it was on the ticket page somewhere when you applied.

Yes. Good luck to everyone who has applied. I am getting a little obsessed now, checking my inbox because I read in one of these threads that applicants received their emails on a Monday.

I just really hope that because nobody on here is saying they've had an email yet, that it means there's still hope..... Please.

It would make my year. Fingers still crossed!!

used to be over 16's only - unless of course you are on a production ticket or a guest pass then the rules on dress code and age don't apply
