I understand some people were offended at first ( I, Myself, as a knee jerk reaction, started yelling at the telly then spent at least an hour telling her to take her foot out of her mouth on Facebook, before I finally had a calm moment!) but once the full story became apparent, it was obviously NOT a homophobic remark nor a nasty one, it was just the continuation of a joke she and Danyl had been having earlier. He was upset by Louis and Cheryl, NOT by Danni.

I think the problem is a lot of the time, your initial reaction can compel you to complain and make a fuss. Most sensible people, however, will understand once the whole truth becomes apparent.

If she's done nothing wrong then there's nothing to worry about surely?. Why you guys getting stressed for, it's not even anything to do with you :S. We could hope so, maybe this incident will make sure that happens. On the 4000 they have their opinions and are allowed to make complaints, however I wonder how many would still make it once the full story was revealed, or maybe they still believe Dannii was out of order.

Problem for me is I did not know what the hell she was on about, had not read any paper stories about the guy, so my knee jerk reaction and my 15 year old sons was "what a bitch" but complain, no I did not, I thought about it though I have to say as I cannot abide that type of thing. Dannii and others have to realise I was not alone in not knowing anything about Danyl other than he has a lovely voice, and we did not hear the backstage joking so it came across as very insulting, which is why so many have complained, you cannot bring a joke on stage and hope people understand if they have not been in on the WHOLE thing.

Even the audience could not believe their ears and fell deathly silent.

We also have no idea how Danyl really feels, as he can hardly start slagging off Dannii, he MAY have been told just accept it, say it was all OK and move on, which would sound about right for the producers of this show.

He also nodded to her comment saying he wasn't ashamed.
He was probably more hurt of being told Louis & cheryl deciding he isn't likable.

I do not think Dannii is a nasty person, far from it, but her comments did offend many people on the night, as I said even the audience fell silent. It was a train crash moment comment, and one she should never have made, never bring a private joke into the public domain, it does not work, and that was proved by Dannii doing so, it backfired badly.

i reckon most of those complaints would have been made before the full story was known and before dannii apologised.

i thought she was 'outing' him to be spiteful (and i love dannii!) couldnt understand it at the time. got well hissy about it (in my sleep!)

now ive been filled in, think its all in context now and was just a badly timed in-joke. doubt ofcom will do much.

I explained I did not get this at all, and thought what a spiteful nasty evil bitch! and so did many other people, some here saying so in fact.

Those people who complained probably did so on the night, I was very tempted as I HATE homophobics. As I said maybe if those 4000 were asked to decide knowing what has now been said if they wish their complaint to stand, many would in fact say NO.

I am saying that with the X factor the spin spun is not always the truth, and we will NEVER know as they are not allowed to comment on anything if told not to, in the contract as I am sure you are aware. So he MAY or MAY NOT be cool with it, and Louis and Cheryls comments were none to nice either, but at the time seemed to pale into the shade compared to Dannii's.

I think something a lot of people dont realise is, that people who watch this show are not all DIE hard X factor fans, and do not read every story on the acts, so many of them would not have read anything about Danyl or any one else for that matter, it is those very people she offended I imagine, as I said I was fuming at the time, as this story broke when I was out of the country. I had to google to see if there had been anything in the press and lo and behold found the story. Now all those NON X factor die hards probably did not, they just sat there fuming thinking she was a right nasty bitch.
