Oh for goodness sake. Dannii shouldnt have said at the time, it was inappropriate but when I understood its meaning, it wasn't malicious or mean, in fact the opposite, she apologised, end of. Even Simon admitted his reaction was OTT.
4000 idiots who jump on a bandwagon of complaining

"Im not ashamed"

Are people complaining because they think Danni insulted/outed Danyl or because she said he should be able to sing the song without changing the gender reference..?

Taking time out to complain about a comment on a TV show says more about the people complaining than it does about Dannii.

So many are so ready to scream "SACK HER" they probably lie in wait, hoping for a dodgy comment so that they can complain and cost someone their job. It's pathetic.

It is something I have tried to listen to and all I can say the closest I can get is:

"I am not sharing"

and you know he appears to thank Cheryl, so it all seems a bit odd that they have said he was upset with Cheryl and Louis but hunky dorey with Dannii.

Good on Danyl He's not ashamed of his sexuality is what he is saying (right?).

Can't see Ofcom doing anything about this.

This is Simon's fault in my opinion for making it seem like an attack when it wasn't for the controversy. This show gets more like Big Brother all the time

All things considered, it would have best left unsaid but i think Dannii's probably got that message now.

He says he isn't ashamed.

I'm not sure why he's thanking Cheryl - she just called him cocky. Maybe he agrees.

Thanks, at least I know what he said now. And good for him, but it was in reply to Dannii he made that comment not Cheryl, who was still trying to speak (or slag him off).

As someone says I am sure Dannii will be more careful in what she says in future, and hopefully the other 3 judges will as well, we dont need inuendos like that to be honest, joke or not. It is family viewing imagine having to explain that lot to a 7 or 8 year old! thank god my son is 15 and knew immediately it was about his sexuality...

I hate it when people go to Ofcom over something that isn't really important. Surely these people have better things to do than ring Ofcom!

Yes, that's right.
I agree, he should be who he is.
I don't care if he is gay or hetro.
I just love how he performs.

and Danyl was joking with Dannii before during the rehearsal, that's already been explained 1000 times.

Why Simon isn't in the heat because he gave him a diva song in the first place 'outing' him or Cheryl & Louis offending and nasty comments, is a mystery.
I guess nobody cares what they say then

I explained I did not get this at all, and thought what a spiteful nasty evil bitch! and so did many other people, some here saying so in fact.

Those people who complained probably did so on the night, I was very tempted as I HATE homophobics. As I said maybe if those 4000 were asked to decide knowing what has now been said if they wish their complaint to stand, many would in fact say NO.

I am saying that with the X factor the spin spun is not always the truth, and we will NEVER know as they are not allowed to comment on anything if told not to, in the contract as I am sure you are aware. So he MAY or MAY NOT be cool with it, and Louis and Cheryls comments were none to nice either, but at the time seemed to pale into the shade compared to Dannii's.

I think something a lot of people dont realise is, that people who watch this show are not all DIE hard X factor fans, and do not read every story on the acts, so many of them would not have read anything about Danyl or any one else for that matter, it is those very people she offended I imagine, as I said I was fuming at the time, as this story broke when I was out of the country. I had to google to see if there had been anything in the press and lo and behold found the story. Now all those NON X factor die hards probably did not, they just sat there fuming thinking she was a right nasty bitch.

GG”

As I keep saying, WHY is it offensive to allude to someone's sexuality when they're (half) out? The whole kneejerk over this has been about people believing that referring to someone as being gay is offensive. That belief is homophobic, whether you deny it or not.

Your average Australian is pretty thick skinned and normally unaware of any insult they have uttered.
Whilst backpacking in OZ, my brother enjoyed horizontal refreshment with a young aussie lass, just as he was on the vinegar strokes she uttered "Have yer slimed yet", this, as you can imagine had a profound and negative effect on his ability to continue his performance.
He never forgave her!!

And your alluding to half OUT is not homophobic then!

I had no idea about Danyl as I have repeated at least twice, I only knew I like the guys first interview, hoped he got through which he did, loved his 1st live performance, his sexuality matters not a jot to me, it is his voice I am interested in, she did not refer to him as GAY did she? if she had said well we all know you are gay why not leave the words as they were orginally maybe people would have been shocked but not half as shocked as half cocked inuendos that people do not understand at all as it was some "in joke" so for me she was insinuating he was gay... now do you get the point... as for me I knew nothing so he could have been straight for all I knew, and GAY is not what has been said anyway according to what I have read, he is bi-sexual, so he could have sung it to a male or female then in my book!! so why make the comment!

Well after I've Knew in this forum one of the persons that complained, I cannot listen about this people without laughing at their stupidity. And I would love to know what are they EXACTLY complaining about, since the said poster that complained, could not provide me with the explanation.

In my opinion the bigger problem is that people think sexuality needs to be hidden from younger people or that they will be unable to understand. A huge number of songs listened to by minors are sung by a man about a woman or visa versa, which I'm sure they can understand, and I think the earlier children are introduced to issues such as homosexuality, the sooner they will stop being such taboos.

I said it was irrevelant, inappropriate, ill-mannered and said in a tone that implied it was some sort of slur.

That's got nothing to do with it. The fact is that Minogue's comment sounded like a personal attack, whether it was meant to be so or not.
