“Hello XXXXX,
Before I go ahead and help you further, I'd like to introduce myself. I work in an escalation team for Email Customer Service and have come across your email by one of my colleagues.
Looking at the chain of emails you have sent it is indeed disappointing that the advisors were not able to answer your issue in a precise manner. Let me explain to you the situation and more importantly get this problem resolved.
I understand from your email that you have been receiving text messages from different companies, you do not have number to send STOP message as you do not have the number.
The shortcode to send the message STOP is 61055.
Vodafone does not provide companies with contact details for any customers. Vodafone is fully aware of its data protection obligations and the privacy concerns of customers.
There are a number of ways in which spammers obtain mobile phone numbers.
From websites, particularly those promoting ringtones or logos, where the customer's consent for marketing has been captured in the terms and conditions.
Some companies buy information from a range of sources for direct marketing purposes. For example, people may provide their mobile numbers when registering for loyalty cards or buying products online. These companies may intend to use mobile numbers for marketing. Customers should always check whether their information will be used for marketing purposes.
The sender of unsolicited SMS messages may have used a computer programme to randomly generate mobile numbers from the operators codes available on OFCOM's website.
Furthere to help you, what I have done is I have amended the marketing preference on your account that you no more receive the text or phone calls from the marketing companies.
Good news is that I've also places Premium rate message bar on both the mobile numbers.
Trust the information is beneficial.
I've also attached a short customer feedback questionnaire and would really appreciate your thoughts to help us improve our service and I can assure you, this will be treated in confidence. Just click here to start.
Kind regards,
