Ive just witnessed two fuller proportioned young girls today at the shpping centre wearing tops with leggings. the tops had big frills round the hem , making them look like circus elephants, does no one ever tell some people that its not on, or with low slung trousers with fat hanging over, dont they have full length mirrors..

As a larger lady (size18) i wear clothes that fit, thatsuit my shape and are bright in colour. I couldn't give a toss about fashion.

My sister, which is a size 6, wears all the fashionable stuff and takes the mickey out of me. However, the clothes i buy are classics and will last for years, while she is always buying new stuff as her stuff is no longer "in fashion"

Well, I would wear something just because it's in fashion but I also know what suits me and would stick to those rules.

I am also far too old for high fashion but I remember (and am quoted on this very website) as saying I would never wear leggings and smock tops only to backtrack a few weeks later.

My betes noires at the moment are: leggings, tops that make all woman look pregnant, bat-wings and horrible pointy shoulder-pads...

yes I agree why smocks when you dont have a bump to hide.. dont understand that one , or these ugly ugly blouson tops revived from the 80s ugly back then and uglier now, they do nothing for even those with great bodies.

I don't get the whole 80s thing full stop. I was a kid then & my older sister used to go out in some terrible outfits, why inflict them on us again?

The 60s by contrast - chic Jackie O dressing, sharp cigarette pants, mini skirts, elegant boots, cute jackets... mmm....

oh the 80s were gross, they had tacky black tights and pink or torqoise shoes, big wide patent belts, it was horrendous. and yes , I did wear my horrid straight dresses with padded shoulders, big tight belts, oh I feel sick.

Saw Jackie O's clothes in St Petes in Florida in 2000, and they were stunning classical chic.

I always look like I got dressed in the dark - hopefully that look will come in to fashion sooner rather than later.

I personally never got how we went from the classy look of the 60's to the shocking fashions of the 70's.

I've recently seen a lot of larger ladies sporting very short dresses with leggings and a belt worn just beneath the breasts......they are belting in their ribs rather than their waists......it's very odd.

I remember last year watching some of the 'fashionable' turn blue with the cold in midwinter. Apparently heavy jackets never come into fashion for some! A top and a SCARF seem to be warm enough for some!

I probably did but as I was only born at the end of 68, I didn't get much say in the matter.
