That's a touch embarrassing, surely?!

Cheryl's song's absolutely awful too - Alesha certainly wins on that score.

I'd agree, Alesha's is a bit better.

Apparently Whitney is on this week, she thrashes them both.

Hmm. Last time I heard Whitney singing live she was pretty dire... Here's hoping she pulls it out of the bag.

Yeah actually she did have some duff ones more recently didn't she.

I've never been one that likes these 'belt out song' type singers but in her day she'd certainly thrash both vocally. Regardless, I think her new song is miles better than either Cheryl's or Alesha's.

Sorry, going totally off topic!

Yeah, I'll agree with you on all that - oversinging is one of my pet hates: compare Dolly Parton's original "I Will Always Love You" with Whitney's cover. As you say, though I'd rather hear Whitney's new'un than Alesha's, and I'd rather hear my cat being sick for three minutes than Cheryl's!

She will NOT be performing on Strictly. I've already had this convo with her so you can all settle down now ...

I like the song and think she could do a damned sight better than CC would do (were she to dare sing Live) ...which I'm sure Alesha would.

Listening to it now and it would make a cracking Rumba for the pros.

The bitching on here has to be seen to be believed. Do the Alesha bashers all tell each other when there is another opportunity available to have another pop at her? This thread has taken over as the more spiteful one on this board at the moment.

I'd love to reply to this properly but the last time I passed comment about people being spiteful for no justified reason SOMEONE got my post reported because I was 'disrespectful'.

HA!

If posts are going to be reported because of 'disrespectful' comments then this entire forum needs to be shut down.

It is a shame that whenever some people post something positive about Alesha, a few feel they have to contribute in a negative way. However, I feel that the actual volume has died down a bit now - possibly it isn't any worse now than comments about Arlene/Len/Craig last year (funny that, not too much about Bruno?).

Back to the song, maybe she could perform on X Factor - the live show is on a Sunday night? Would be a coup for Simon, get her lots of publicity, and not stir up the boards - sorry fellow controversy watchers. She could possibly invite their judgs to be her backing singers - as ong as they don't turn the mikes on!

Ever the voice of reason The "Alesha bashers" may just happen to have an opinion that you don't share. Don't label others just because they don't agree with you - that's pretty bitchy in my opinion.

Maybe they could do backing vocals for her? They could do a Four Tops style routine behind her. Take the attention away from her dreaful 'singing'.

The whole point of this forum is to comment on all things SCD.

You may not like it, but someone expressing their view that Aleshas singing is shite is just as valid as someone else fawning over her and telling us that the Sun shines out of her backside.

Arlene received just as much flak, if not more, last year.

Me, I much prefer the voice of that girl they had on last Saturday singing the old Shirrelles number.

Only if Len, Bruno and Craig can sing along with her. They could practice for next years entry for Xfactor. Luis Walsh could coach them in the group category.

It is nothing to do with having a different opinion. It is how you voice that opinion, and in my opinion there are a lot of bitchy posts on this thread. Perhaps that's the only way some people can voice their opinions.

She was hopeless when she last sang on Strictly.

She wasn't hopeless and she was dancing around so she obviously wouldn't be able to show off her vocals to the max.

I knew how many Alesha bashers there were on this forum but I didn't think they'd take over this thread

ALESHA IS A GOOD SINGER.

The terms of the conditions state that:
- People are allowed to have opinions about celebrities
- Posters are not allowed to post negative things about other posters. So, BuddyBontheNet, you are not entitled to express an opinion that there are bitchy posts on this thread.

Sadly, the board rules state that you ARE out of line for criticising others for disagreeing with you, and the vast majority of anti-Alesha posts are in line with forum rules.

It's a shame that whenever someone posts something negative about Alesha, they're attacked as a 'basher', 'spitful', etc. & treated as if their opinions are invalid or they have no right to post them. As a refuge from negative posts, there are appreciation threads.

Anyhow, if Alesha sings live & Cheryl doesn't it'll be a from SCD to X Factor.

How good a singer IS Alesha? She sounds quite 'generic' to me but I have heard her singles so it may be the production.

I can only remember her singing live once... she sounded fairly similar to the studio version of the song to me. I think she has some very unusual vocal tics, which I quite like, and I don't think she was bad at all. Obviously, she's not one of the world's greatest vocal talents, but these days you don't need to be *coughs*Cheryl Cole*coughs*.
