The soundtrack for New Moon has been released today.
Leaving aside any feelings you have for the Twilight franchise, what does everyone think about the music itself?

You can listen to the whole thing here:

iTunes ‘The Twilight Saga: New Moon’ Original Motion Picture Soundtrack tracklist

1. Death Cab For Cutie – Meet Me On The Equinox
2. Band Of Skulls – Friends
3. Thom Yorke – Hearing Damage
4. Lykke Li – Possibility
5. The Killers – A White Demon Love Song
6. Anya Marina – Satellite Heart
7. Muse – I Belong To You (New Moon Remix)
8. Bon Iver & St. Vincent – Rosyln
9. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club – Done All Wrong
10. Hurricane Bells – Monsters
11. Sea Wolf – The Violet Hour
12. OK Go – Shooting The Moon
13. Grizzly Bear (with Victoria Legrand) – Slow Life
14. Editors – No Sound But The Wind
15. Alexandre Desplat – New Moon (The Meadow)
BONUS:
16. Lupe Fiasco – Solar Midnite
17. The Magic Numbers And Amadou & Mariam – All I Believe In
18. APM Orchestra. – Die Fledermaus – Duettino: Ach, ich darf nicht hin zu dir
19. Death Cab For Cutie – Meet Me On The Equinox (Music Video)
20. Ulf Bastlein – Wandrers Nachtlied II, Op. 96, No. 3, D.768 (preorder only)

I do like it, but I'm slightly bemused at the remix of I Belong To You. I swear it's the same track but somebody's put some appalling guitar over the top.

I love Editors - No Sound But The Wind, but i don't think this soundtrack is as good as the last one,
agree about the Muse thing i just don't see the point of the remix

There really was no point to the 'remix' of I Belong To You, the guitar at the beginning sounds crap, and I miss Matt's attempts at singing in French I read that the guys remixed it themselves ...

oh, and Hearing Damage is awesomeness; had it on repeat for a few days!

I really liked the Ok Go song
I think Satellite Heart suits the mood and story of the film the most. And the score sounds like it's going to be beautiful!
Going to look for the Lupe Fiasco and Magic Numbers songs on youtube for a listen.

I shouldn't like it but... I kind of do

The Magic Numbers song appears to not exist on Youtube

I thought Robert Pattinson was having some of his songs on the soundtrack?

Oh well, can't say I've heard of any of the songs on it. Can't wait to see the film though.

do soundtracks have anything to do with the films these days are they just another money spinner, this might as well just be another NME album.

I haven't seen New Moon yet, but all the songs off of the Twilight OST (bar one I think) were included in the film, then obviously there was the score seperate.

Speaking of the score, I couldn't believe Carter Burwell didn't do the score for New Moon, but I actually gave it a listen the other day and REALLY like it, it's a lot more epic than Burwell's, even though I miss the guitars and stuff

Don't think this is as good as the Twilight OST which i can listen to from start to finish, this is a little too out there for me to be honest.

Not as good as the "Twilight" soundtrack...but "New Moon" has the better movie, so I guess they can't give it the better soundtrack as well.

"A White Demon Love Song" by The Killers is my favourite song on this soundtrack

"Possibility" is beautiful. Haunting, though.
