Why is it, that I actually thought this was one of the best performances of the night. Just me?

I loved it. More energetic and entertaining than most other performances.

It was my best performance too .

They were flat and the performance was tripe.

Doesn't help that the vile creatures are despicable.

They were beyond awful! Cannot find the words to adequately describe how bad I thought they were.

They're not vile! FFS, you dont even know them and obviously haven't bothered to listen to any of the other contestants/watch their blogs because it's quite clear J+E are NOT vile and are actually really charismatic, down to earth guys.

2 nice lads ,rock dj was entertaining, but the boys can't sing ,without all the back up.

I was bemused that so many slagged J&E off then praised Robbie's considerably inferior performance the following night.

J&E aren't there to sing, we might as well accept it. I'll only start getting pissed off by them when acts I like get voted out instead of them - until then they're good fun to watch.

It was very entertaining visually, much more so than some of the other acts.

Vocals weren't great, though they weren't quite as bad as some have suggested.....we're not talking about one of those joke acts you see at the first round audition.

Some VERY nasty posts on here..
..oh well..yes OP it was easily the most entertaining performance of the night, the lads are born entertainers..they have the charisma that most of the other acts this year lack(excepting Miss Frank and Jamie although i wasnt too keen on his performance last week)
It would be a pretty boring show this year without John and Edward.

They have very weak voices, but imo they are on a par with Eoghan last year in the sense they can keep a tune.

I can honestly say that J+E went from being a joke act (in my eyes) to the stars of the show last saturday.

I really enjoyed their performance more than any other act last week and I actually went on you tube to watch them again during the week.

lol Forget 1st round auditions did you check out who got past the second auditions? That was such a funny performance!

I loved John and Edward's performance. X factor just wouldn't be the same without them.

I don't think the words have been invented yet....

Easily the most abysmal "act" I've seen on TV since Eoghan last year - in fact twice as bad.

I liked him! I would have loved to have seen him on the live shows

Their singing was very poor. ...but luckily for them the producers picked a song with a long chorus where their voices are drowned out by backing singers.

They practically mimed a major chunk of the song.

I bet the sames happens with the "Oops I did it again" chorus this week.

Don't get me wrong...they gave a fun performance....but without the help of backing singers it would be unwatchable.

I loved their performance of Rock DJ I think I've watched it more than 30 times on YouTube already! haha

No one can say they didn't put 100% into their performance last week, because it was obvious they were confident and really enjoying it! Which only shows how determined and hard-working the twins actually are!

I enjoyed their performance much more than Lloyd's, Rikki's or even Olly's.

I guess it depends what you watch the show for. They obviously appeal to some kind of demographic. I can't see them as anything more than two identical twins with zero talent but fairly inoffensive faces. I bet had they been brown haired fraternal twins, they wouldn't be there now.

I've no doubt they gave it 100% but confident?? No, not a chance. They barely looked at the audience, stumbled through the lines, and then sang to the DJ uncomfortably. I thought, aside from Dannii-gate, it was the most uncomfortable moment of the night. Having said that, I cut them some slack for the lack of confidence because it took a lot of guts for them to come out at all with the amount a negative press they are getting. Press which isn't their fault, as Cheryl rightly pointed out, it's not their fault they're still there.

I'm slightly confused by all of the people who seem to be so against J&E as people. They were quite cocky in their first audition, but they are (or were) 17 year old boys trying to make an impression. They messed up a bit singing over that girl at bootcamp, but then after, she seemed to imply that they were actually quite upset about it. And since they have been on the live shows, people who work with them seem to be queueing up to say nice things about them. Compare that to the horror stories creeping out about Danyl, and it seems the vitriol directed at the twins is a little over the top.

Its the Rhydian scenario all over again. Make someone out to be the villain of the piece and they'll get higher ratings and more media exposure. Much more than if they had 12 very lovely, but slightly boring people.

I didn't like the J&E's route through the auditions, I did think they came across as obnoxious. However, having believed all the negative stories about Rhydian and then realising I had been conned, am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt for the time being.

By the time we watch the later auditions on the telly, they have already chosen the final 12, so the auditions can be edited to fit whatever the producers have decided their respective personas are going to be.

Having employed a few 17 year olds in my time, at least J&E are articulate and can follow a fairly complicated routine. I've had difficulty trying to explain an alphabetic filing system in the past to some school leavers, so at least they have something about them.
