That first picture certainly proves the theory that dogs look like their owners.

If she sings live then Dermot should give out a number so that viewers can have the choice of voting to keep her. Wouldn't it be hilarious if she ended up in the bottom two - maybe they wouldn't actually send her home, just get her to promise never to do it again.

Do you think she should "mime" and then judge other peoples live singing on the same episode of the X Factor then?

Exactly. She's been hoist aloft upon her own petard! The fact she rejected the lovely Ethan because she thought he was all looks and no talent just makes her an even bigger joke than she is already.

It's fair enough if it doesn't bother you, but it's a bit rich to say people are pathetic for holding an opinion based on rational thought.
---------

My thoughts on the matter are:

Cheryl miming on X Factor, and therefore admitting that she cannot sing live for whatever reason, after judging people's live performances, is akin to someone becoming a driving examiner, without a license let alone proper traning, based on the fact they're fair at Gran Tursimo.

Oh, the Ofcom brigade out in full force again. Hehe. Yeesh, Ofcom should have done a better job than this - she should have been banned from performing at all.

N.B. I do actually like Cheryl and her new single. I don't, however, think Ofcom should be called in to 'persuade' a SINGER to SING on a show which is all about being able to SING LIVE

Not always. I mute the TV when adverts are on, they do my head in. Perfectly plausible that other people mute the TV when things grate on them too. It's a handy button

Ok yes for ads etc but really when someone is singing? Surely you'd want to listen to it just to complain about how bad it was. It's all part of the fun!

So previous X factor winner returns and mimes, and the Daily says nothing apart from two lines at the end of this article...

Yet "sources" from redtops say Cheryl will be miming and suddenly it's "top news" on their site? Seriously, this is probably the fourth article on her performance in as many days.

Frankly, I think they should be more concerned with the garbage their own reporters are writing then whether or not Cheryl will be singing live or not.

However I do like how they make out she changed her mind at the last minute from complaints - despite Cheryl saying she was always going to perform live herself on Radio1 and online. Of course, that wasn't including the article, rather more quotes from these mystery "insider sources"

Edit: Also, why wasn't there this outcry when GA prerecorded last year?

Well I must be pathetic

How she dare sit and judge/critisize others on something she cant do herself is beyond me

I love the way she is getting over it by PARTLY singing live

What will that be????........two words?

Is that not what, you know, the whole show is about?

How many of those voting - the REAL judges - can sing?

We're not putting ourselves forward as singers. Big difference.

Hmmmm... yes, I think I would, but I'm willing to accept there are people that wouldn't just as there are people who (for whatever reason) like J&E and Lloyd.

I don't agree with the show letting Alex mime (if she did - just to cover my back) but there's a big difference between Alex and Cheryl - Cheryl judges people's ability to do LIVE performances. If she was just 'that one from Girls Aloud' coming on as a guest to promote her single, I don't think people would mind. I wouldn't.
