The music of BBC4's Synth Britannia appreciation thread
So, inspired by BBC4's excellent programmes, which classic British electronic acts float your boat most? The more mainstream 'usual suspects' such as Gary Numan and the Human League?
Or, like me, were you pleasantly surprised to see footage of the likes of Cabaret Voltaire and Throbbing Gristle? ![]() Who should they have focused on more? Or who wasn't included that should have been? Or if you just want to wax lyrical about the the above and more, feel free...

I have heard a lot about this from my mates on Twitter and Facebook. It sounds like it was an awesome show.

What struck me most about Flür's appearance more than anything was his slightly 'caught in a windtunnel' expression, has he had a bit of work done there? Anyhow great show, was surprised Bowie's Scary Monsters wasn't mentioned. I always under the impression that it was Bowie's absorption of Kraftwerk (in particular on SMSC album) that was the catalyst for artists such as Gary Numan - Bowie was the missing link and though referenced via film clips Bowie role wasn't mentioned. |

Personally, I've always considered "Scary Monsters" quite a guitar-y album.
