The Boyzone tradegy! Hi folks, dont take this as nasty, but it just got me wondering when watching x factor and them just getting on with it, would the same be the case if it was a member of take that?

Well why would it change anything?

Did big brother stop because wacko jacko died?
The only time things are altered in reality is when a major figure dies. Like the Queen.
Even then I am pretty sure x factor would carry on

The show must go on.

To be honest I think a Take That would have less influence on the X Factor.

Louis is a close friend and colleague of Stephen's.

What's a "tradegy"?

This thread has so many teasers, no more Boyzone or Take That records and the X Factor cancelled. If only.

I'll get slaughtered for saying this again (I did it in the X-Factor thread elsewhere and got assassinated) but Louis should learn a bit of professionalism and put personal issues aside, the lad wasn't a family member and he has a contract to fulfil and a commitment to his acts on X-Factor as well as to his successful boy band. How many of us would be allowed to take compassionate leave because a friend had died? None of us, we'd be allowed leave to attend the funeral but apart from that it would be business as usual.

I'm not hard, don't ever believe it, but I've had family members who've passed away and been expected to work through the grief, I'm talking cousins, aunts, uncles etc. Immediate family is a different matter but Stephen wasn't Louis' immediate family, he should do what the rest of us have to do and put a brave face on it and admit that life goes on. He's a professional for goodness sake and he has to accept all that goes with it, he's in showbiz and the show has to go on, better celebrities than him have carried on regardless.

Actually Louis's reason for missing X Factor tonight is that it clashes with the funeral, which is today. Not because he's still grieving, although I'm sure he is.

Then why is he missing tomorrows show too? That doesn't clash with the funeral. He is still grieving clearly.

It might be postponed if one of the current singers died or one of the current judges.

Other than that, I don't see it getting pulled.

How is it unprofessional for Louis to not appear on tv when he is attending a funeral (in another country)? He had a long term working relationship with Stephen, as well as a friendship.

You could have taken longer off for members of your family. Your choice.

In reality, if the show can't carry on without Louis' judging opinion, then the show really is in deep trouble.

They can have a guest judge to comment and as like last week, if one of Louis' acts are in the bottom two, then it is automatically taken that he would vote for his own.

Simples!

I've always thought Louis's only been on it anyway, to make Simon look good by comparison.

i was just thinking it would have been nice that they would have had at least a minutes silence or applause for the man! im sure if it was another band there would have been some sort of recognition for them! put it this way its a music show and a man from the british music industry has passed away! e.g if it was football, the family of the football community would show its respect!

Probably less so. The only reason that X factor has been affected is louis closeness to stephen. He discovered BZ

It's been less than a week since one of his best friends died! Leave him alone for **** sake... his grieving is none of your business.

I was at the funeral today and if you only saw Louis. He looked like a broken man, completely shattered. Stephen was 17 when he started working with Louis, he has said many times, not just this week that Stephen was like a son to him. Ireland is a very small place, the music circle even smaller and to me Louis has lost someone very dear to him and had a need to be with the Boyz and Stephen's family.

I don't begrudge him any time off X-Factor, it's not something he's gonna get over in a few days. Give the guy a break and have some compassion. Everyone grieves in different ways and Louis clearly needs time away at the moment.
