I see his point (with his examples) but I don't think it's right that any singer mimes. It's become okay and viewed as normal for singers (hence the job title!) to mime.
Yeah, but Cheryl hasn't _really_ proven herself as an artist. Girls Aloud may have, but starting out with her solo career, and on a show like X-Factor, I don't think it'll do her any favours.
I would have thought she would have lead from the front and shown the contestants what it's all about, but it seems she is going to cop out...... gutless.
The girl can't sing. She only got into GA thru her looks.
I was stunned when she got into the band (the black girl should have gone thru...can't remember her name) and she's yet to prove herself as a singer.
This would be the perfect opportunity for her to prove herself...but she won't. Says it all.

I totally agree, Cheryl was the worst singer on popstars the rivals yet she kept getting through week after week. Javine was the best singer they had but she lost out on the spot because she was campaigning for cheryl.
If she really wants to prove that she can sing she has the perfect opportunity to do so now.
Every singer Brian has been involved with has probably needed to mime though. Typically he has them abseiling down from the ceiling before riding a motorbike across the backs of some musclemen and then finishing off with a spot of fire eating while walking down some highly dangerous 'perspex steps'.
And it's all done in the best possible taste, as Kenny Everett's character used to say while wildly crossing her legs and flashing her knickers.

True, but I think Cheryl can take it!
Isnt she singing live anyway? I thought that was what I had heard, just that it was being pre-recorded earlier in front of a live audience.
In which case, I will be interested to hear how she does, I have never heard her sing except with GA
