I loved the introduction of the new dances. Brought new zest to the show.

The exception being the Country Two Step. This is either a complete waste of space, or else the pros could not dance it and therefore couldn't teach their celebs, and didn't do the sensible thing and find someone who could teach it.

The Lambada and Charleston were huge fun, and I really hope both are introduced to Strictly before long.

The Bolero.... My favourite.

Bit of trivia: The term RUMBA is really the name of all types of Cuban dancing, including the fast rhythms such as salsa. For some reason it was adopted as the name of the slow dance - correctly named the Bolero. Weird, I know!

The American Rhythm version of the 'rumba' is quite a lot faster than the international version (the only one danced in UK and Continent), hence US has room for the Bolero as well!

I wondered why the Bolero was so like the Rumba - really, really didn't see the point of it so quickly after having a rumba last week. Most of the celebs find the Rumba difficult as it is without having to do two up close and personal difficult dances.

Hated the two step and agree with you.

Loved the Charlston and Lambada.

I agree with you there. Especially as (I think?) one couple had the bolero this week, and the rumba the week previous.

I think the Charleston is a great dance, really fun and really energetic if done correctly. I'd love it to be introduced to SCD in this series because could you imagine someone like Ricky Groves doing it? That would be really good.

Yes Natalie and Alec had the Rumba last week and Bolero this week - to be honest it looked like she just danced the same moves again but in a different order.

Just watched the repeat on Watch and agree totally about the Country Two-Step, it was a complete disaster for all of the couples!

Loved Derek and his partner's lambada, and we got to see some chest action as an added bonus! I would absolutely love to see Derek & Mark on Strictly, although i don't know what the majority of the Strictly viewing audience would think of them, a bit too modern, maybe? But i adore both of these guys!

After his disastrous jive, I'd love to see Anton attempt the Charleston

Anton v Ricky G v Phil in the Charleston? Despite being the professional I think Anton would come last in that battle. It's be very interesting to watch.

I loved seeing the Charleston on DWTS - would love to see a couple of different dances in SCD - how about the hustle or mambo added as well?

Or is there any other dances that could be introduced?

Which is such a damned shame because the Two Step is a really cool dance if only they'd just stuck to even the basic rule, i.e anti clockwise around the floor. There are loads of tricks and spins and complex figures in Two Step but as a keen country dance fan, I think the dance needs to be done 'authentically' for it to work and look good. On the plus side, at least no one attempted it to a ridiculously inappropriate pop or rock song.

The Two Step should not be in this show. It's absolutely fine for a barn, but not DWTS. Hicksville.

What next? Line dancing? Yuk.

Hicksville ?? Not sure I deserved that but thanks for your input. Wait a minute, don't tell me let me guess, you're an out of work IDTA
teacher that can't make the cut as a pro dancer... or are you just another armchair critic that can just about manage "side together side together" to Abba tunes at a wedding ?
