Will Olly change the gender references in his song tonight?

D'you reckon Simon will try to heterosexualise his song? He's straight, but he's singing 'A Fool in Love', so methinks it'll be kind of hard to change the man into a woman.

Especially in this line in the chorus:
"Why he treats you like he do when he's such a good man..."

Doubt it but I'm sure Dannii will jump at the opportunity to make a comment.

"I'd like to apologize because I had my wires crossed I didn't realize the lyrics had been altered (I don't think I'm alone here!) so NOW I see where Dannii is coming from. In this case I think it is quite a sad move that Cowell and Danyl saw it right to change them. Is keeping/gaining female fan base more important than being true to yourself?

Hm. Dannii if anything should be praised for such a move."

So what made you change your mind?

Does it matter?

Really sorry OP, couldnt resist, just one more time!

I will listen with interest, because to be honest, I completely missed the change in Danyl's song last week.
I really can't answer the question - he will probably change it, but you just never know!

Wow you really are spineless.

I meant as in a comment to continue her apologie. It seems to keep coming up. All she seems to be doing is apologizing.

Thats a bit rude!

Tomi-08 is definitely not spineless, thats for sure!

If you were making that comment tongue in cheek, then I apologise also - but you appear a little harsh to me.

Olly will do what his mentor tells him, I expect. As they all do. Unless they are called Rachel (last year's not this year's!)

And now I am confused, because I don't know who was quoting who, so I am now going to stay out of it and retire to another thread for a while.
Sorry everyone.

Are we back in the classroom? I have since spoken to Tomi over pm luv no need for other people to involve themselves.

TBH, I find all this nonsense about singing a 'man's' or 'woman's' song a load of twaddle.

Just sing the bliddy thing. I couldn't care less whether they sing he/she/cat/dog/goldfish......just do it.

Sadly it's all about reputation unfortunately.. something Simon Cowell seems to think revolves around sexuality. I mean the lovely Stephen Gately came out and his fans thought nothing negative of it.. as did Will Young etc.

The boys are allowed to retain gender references to adoring another man, but only if it's in done as a dedication to the "wonderful", "caring" and of course "broad-minded" Simon Cowell.

Give it a rest you lot would you?

This week these forums have been the most disappointing and boring in years.....I thot all of us did joined up writing....but by some of the topics this week going over old ground again and again it would appear not.....

When the contestants are boring, which this lot seem to be so far, then the controversies are largely all there is to talk about in week 1.

I think we should forget voting for the singing, and have Dermot read out Ofcom's number - but only after we've heard ALL the controversies and he can give a recap.

Ringing Ofcom makes for truly interactive television. The act whose controversy generates the least complaints, as reported in the Mirror, Star and Sun, leaves the Of-competition.

It's a great song; probably my favourite of the lot tonight. I just can't see Olly pulling it off.
