If you've got it on series link on BBC HD then it won't record tonight's.

I had it set and the recording started on time at 19:15, but then because of the F1 the schedule was mucked about with. As a result the BBC HD recording just stopped of its own accord (before SCD started) and hasn't started recording the show at its new time.

You're left with a 7 minute recording.

Is Freesat really that crap? I understand Sky+ and Freeview plus can handle these sort of situations automatically?

Calm down calm down.

It was quite a complex thing that occurred:
1) The box started recording at 19:15, the scheduled time for the start of SCD.
2) At 19:22, the BBC update the schedule to show SCD starting at 19:25.
3) The box (I assume) sees this and stops recording, thinking perhaps that the programme's finished?
4) For some reason then doesn't pick up the real start of the program at 19:30. I assume this is because the box thinks it's already recorded that episode.

Freesat can handle the same things automatically that Sky/Freeview can. If a programme is simply extended then it works perfectly.

I Think it's a BBC/Freesat EPG bug.

BBC has been messing around with HD EPG for the last two days, and is not good.

Did it record OK on Freesat BBC1?

It was fine on my Freeview 9300T, but my HDR missed it.

Rgds.

The EPG's been updated for it to finish at 21:40 so it should be ok!

She's was not happy. Fortunately her disaster recovery plan kicked in and it has recorded on the freeview box.

Weird Stuff.

If BBC1 recorded OK, it reaffirms that BBC have been messing around with HD EPG and broadcast stream.

The HD timer somehow recovered after recording the "A Little Later ..." stuff that the EPG was incorrectly showing, and missing a part of the start of Strictly, it started recording Strictly to the end.

I really don't know how it managed to recover this, but well done the HDR box.

Good job, because the Freeview box cut it short, probably because of the delayed start.

Actually, shows the benefits of having both platforms when the broadcasters cock it up.

Rgds.

I really wish Humax would do a sanity check when these schedule changes happen.

If a programme is in the EPG at 1 hour long and it then finds it's changed to 7 mins it would make a great deal of sense to use the longer time as programmes don't usually change their length and there's more likely to be an error in an on the fly change than the original schedule.

My hdr recorded Strictly on BBC HD on a series link without any problem. It recorded 19:15 - 23:25 though so got a lot more than just the programme

It has come to something when you have to set up 2 boxes in order to stand a chance of recording what you want.

I suppose you could always watch for it to start and then press the record button

Odd - quite a few people here are seeing the same thing, with a 7 minute recording.

Did you have the box on? Maybe for whatever reason if the box was off it was ok.

Graham,

You're right, I just re-looked at my recording. It started with 3 lots of "A Little Later ....." although the i-plate showed Strictly, then it does get the start of Strictly, plus carries on to 23:25.

Last night I'd assumed it had missed the start as I saw all the "A liitle Later" stuff, and I only then skipped to near the end where Freeview had cut the end short.

A strange event, though.

Edit: carvell, my box was on, we were watching the recordings of You've Been Framed, and then Burp. I'm on Auto (AR).

Rgds.

Mine was also on though I was watching a dvd at the time. Had a phone call from a friend who mentioned that F1 had overrun so flipped over to the hdr to check it was recording both X Factor and Strictly, it was so went back to the DVD.

My box was in standby it came to life and started recording as expected but a little later i noticed it was stopping its red standby light again so i turned it on and recorded SCD on the red record button
It was a single program recording set on guide

Didn't do a back up setting on the Freesat - so just to annoy the 9200 stopped at 19.42 - just the 27 minutes then!!! So now I'm trying to download it for BBC iplayer - over 3 hours! And not looking at DigitalSpy home.

Something else that was apparent from last night's programme delay is that the BBC HD continuity announcements must be recorded. I was watching BBC HD waiting for SCD to start at 7.15. The 'Jools Holland Later' shows & trailer fillers began without any comment from the BBC as to why there was a delay and as to when the scheduled show might start. When SCD did start, the announcer went on about what was coming up later without any apology for the delay.

It was only reading here this morning did I find out the reason for it all.

It's ironic. I detest the talking during the end credits, but when I actually wanted some information, there was none forthcoming.

So yours tried to finish before the end of the programme then?

Some of us have a 7 minute recording, some have a massively long recording which includes the programme, and some seem to have tried to finish early!

Just one of those things...or something.

Yes, very odd why there were two differing outcomes.

For what it's worth, I ended up with a 7 min recording.
