Anton's Jiving (merged)
I know he is a ballroom specialist..... but oh dear
![]() That was awful, he looks so amateur next to other male pro's. I remember him jiving with Jan Ravens and that was dire as well. I like him as a personality, but his latin is dire. |

its always been a weaker area for him though, I agree it puts his partner at more of a disadvantage, but then with Vincent and Flavia being the residing experts over argentine tango, you could say they have an advantage over everyone else.
Perhaps his TV career will make it more tricky for him to come back next year? |

Shocking he's described as a pro that was laughably bad.

That was pretty dire. I thought half the time it was HIM making the mistakes and not Laila. His samba-ing wasn't much better. He really isn't an all-rounder is he.
Oh dear! |

I think the music choice did not help at all, it did not have the right beat to it, or they were both dreadfully out of time.

I have always poo pooed the derision in relation to Anton's Latin dancing, thinking he wasn't that bad. But it was hard to tell who was the professional and who was the celeb in their Jive tonight. Truly appalling.

They are so lucky to have missed being in the dance off with Zoe because they'd have been booted tonight based on that peformance.

Love that Bowie song, but not suited to the jive. Shame.

Is it me or was anton's dancing terrible?
sorry- but that was my gut reaction tonight. No wonder poor Laila's dancing in her Jive was so terrible (and it was AWFUL) I remember the judges saying "Your ballroom is better than your latin" and I thought "Hmmm- I wonder why??"

Anton's jive was by far the WORST of any professional tonight - so, automatically Laila's jive was not going to be good.

I though he was worse than Laila, worse than most of the celebrities actually.

No not just you. I started a thread earlier about his appalling attempt at the jive. Im aware that he is a ballroom specialist but its just not on at all. He doesnt appear to even try. In fact it was hard to tell who was the celeb, him or Laila?
He was diabolicial in the group samba as well. The other male pro's really showed him up. |

My impression was that he realised that Leila had lost the plot and did his best to keep her dancing SOMETHING which resembled a jive - in fact, I really admired him for getting her to move around the floor for the rest of the session!
I don't think he was dancing badly, but he had to adjust to her movements and try to make it look as little like a disaster as possible. |

Yes. It was a toss up for me as to who was worse - Laila or Anton.
And I thought Anton was bad in the pro Samba as well. I find myself cringing now watching Anton both during and after the dancing. |
