Abandoning his plan to dance in his boxing gloves was NOT a good idea.

I agree that it was Joe's time to go, but I thought that he showed a great improvement in the dance-off. If his original dance had been like that, he might have scored higher with the telephone vote.

I know all the judges had to save Zoe, but it would have been nice if at least one of them had commented on Joe's perfeormance in the dance off.

All the previous weeks, he seemed suprised to be saved, but this week I thought he looked suprised to be in the dance off.

Should have gone first round, no rhythm whats so ever & no personality to match. Tired of seeing him doing boxing moves instead of concentrating on his dancing moves. Look out Joe she'll be hungry for someone else now!

Last night was the first time I had actually enjoyed Joe and Kristina's dancing performance and I was surprised they were in the dance off. He seemed a lovely person, if not a natural dancer.

But between him and Zoe......he had to go.

Yes, her history of a few 5 year relationships since she was young shows that she rapidly chucks people. Well the NOTW says she is a maneater, so she must be.

Sorry - the unfair reputation the tabloids have given Kristina REALLY annoys me.

I found it quite ironic that Joe looked pretty musical in his final dance with Kristina at end of the show.

Really? Know him personally do you? God, I love armchair critics ... back off

I've been a fan of Joe's for years as a boxer and must admit I was surprised to see him on SCD. I've felt a great deal of sympathy for him as I also have two left feet on a dancefloor, but credit to him, he kept going in the face of some caustic comments in the studio and some really quite personal insults being thrown his way on here. Personally, I'd have done a JS and walked ...

Not only that, as the perennial underdog he appeared to be popular with his fellow contestants backstage, having formed friendships particularly with Rav and Craig.

His dance-off was easily his best ever - he appeared to have cast off the nerves that had plagued him through previous shows. Even to a non-expert like myself, his kicks were noticeably better than first time round. OK, there was only one choice between him and Zoe, but it's such a shame that the judges couldn't have at least recognised that and made mention of it ...

I was surprised almost to the level of shocked by how well Joe danced in the dance-off. He was in time with the music, remembered the whole routine, and showed that actually, there is dance potential within him.

The biggest breakthrough of this series - just at totally the wrong time.

Obviously very popular with the public

It's not a question of popularity (or not) with the public, so lose the sarcasm - I'm just sick of all the little Craig Revel-Horwood clones and their poisonous, bitchy comments I've been reading on here for the last few weeks. That applies to what they've said about all the contestants by the way, not just Joe C.

OK, they're all being paid for being on the show, but at the end of the day, they train bloody hard for it all week and that minute and a half every Saturday must be absolute murder on the nerves - it only takes a split-second of lost concentration to make an arse of yourself on national television. Of course, we're all entitled to our opinions, but a bit more respect is due, I think.

CR-H is not as well-qualified as Len to be making comments as it is, but to do it in the gleeful, bitchy manner in which he does gets under my skin - if he slagged me off and then sanctimoniously put the word "dahhhling ..." on the end of it, I'd wanna kill him - kudos to Brendan Cole on last night's show for walking off. There's no need for all of us to stoop to CR-H's level.

What do we learn from that dance-off? That the judges' oft-repeated statement from previous shows and series, that they are voting for the person who has just shown more improvement in the dance-off, is complete eyewash.

Joe stepped out knowing his fate, and with all the tension drained out of him, he danced miles better than earlier in the show. Still bad, yes, but to cite Craig - a VAST improvement daahling!.
Zoe on the other hand did her repeat performance as if she was in shock, which she probably was.

So come on judges, be honest, in future say you'll be voting for the one who deserves to furthest in the show.

Joe did seem more relaxed.
But I'm so glad he's gone.
Craig next week?

Agreed - she should have been bottom of the leader board. She lost her steps 10 seconds in and was just been thrown about by Anton for the rest of the dance, reminiscent of how he danced with Kate Garraway!!!

Craig wasn't brilliant by any stretch of the imagination but he at least was entertaining in a "dad dancing" kind of way. Joe was better than previous weeks but was still dreadful.

I found the marking way off this week - and Zoe just bores the pants off me if I am honest - although she didn't deserve to be in the dance off.

I thought Joe was showing signs of improvement and potential to do better but in a dance off with Zoe he had to be the one to go.

I think Craig should have been in the dance off but that's viewers votes for you!!

And Joe should have been in the dance off every week before now so there you go. That's viewers votes for you!

I personally didn't think he was as great in the dance off as everyone's making out. Oh well, it doesn't matter, I suppose. He's gone now, I'm happy.

Agreed!

Afterwards I found myself thinking - maybe when he saw who he was up against in the dance-off he figured there was absolutely no way he'd be staying in, and so for the first time since the show started he was actually 'enjoying' (maybe the wrong word, but it fits) the dance, because in his head he wasn't competing any more and so the worry of being good enough to get to the next round was gone?

Do you think he would have performed as well in the dance-off against e.g. Craig and Flavia, where the outcome of the dance-off would have been less predictable?

But it is at the end of the day, up until the judges have the final vote, a 'popularity contest' & pls calm down its only a reality TV show & forums like this are for different points of view. By the way I certainly admire the man for his boxing.
I certainly don't want contestants to be perfect, its nice to see a progression & contestants with personality. But Joe was boring & just not very good after 5 weeks.
Certainly Zoe didn't deserve to be in the dance off.
Have a nice Sunday
