I went to my local PC fair and bought one there, clips in perfectly. Unfortunately it has no manufacturer information on it, just some cheap chinese thing.

I have an iPhone 3G and 2 cars
. In the older car I use an Alpine headunit and use the iPod interface, unfortunately as it is based on FireWire and the iPhone 3G removed charging over FireWire then it will play but not charge. In the other car I have the manufacturers Toyota iPod integration kit, pretty much works the same as the Alpine unit but it can charge as it uses USB. VW probably do something similar although they can be pricey or you could get a headunit that supports the iPod or line in. You could also try the FM things and charge via the cigarette lighter, it is highly portable and quick to set up in any car but I am not a fan. The sound quality to me is terrible. I prefer an interface or straight into USB for good sound quality and charging in one.The only problem is that you cannot control the music from the iPhone screen when it is plugged in, but that would be unsafe anyway. You can still accept calls and make calls if you have bluetooth handsfree plus you can still see text notifications and reply to them (I don't do that though). |

Well I think you are down to just getting a window or cup holder mount and running the charging cable from the 12v socket. Unless you go for a more permanent mount, but, that still needs the cable running to it..
Let us know what you find out there... |

Of course if you get the TomTom app you can get the smart new TomTom cradle for IPhone....Bit of an expense though, just for a car holder.
