Is any one else concerned about this new selection method?

Having just read the post about the Newcastle audition, I am getting worried, people turning up in chicken outfits and others sleeping in cars to get the chance to be in BB5. Again the wrong sort of people seem to want to get in the famous house.

Are we going to get an even worse collection of media wannabees than we had last year. The form the auditions take could create this problem. After seeing so many people those charged with selecting the few are going to be so jaded (no pun intended) that anyone who stands out IMMEDIATELY is likely to get through to the next round and this could create such in your face characters being selected that we end up with a bunch of second rate, hyper, pub entertainers.

Also is BB's success its worst enemy, we still get coverage of various failed contestants in the media and then an ex dental hygenist is seen to be living the high life and earning huge sums of money for doing nothing as a result of being an obnoxious idiot on BB3. As a result are those who are making a real attempt to get into BB5 all likely to be only interested in how they can create an easy career when they leave the house.

As I said, I am starting to get worried about BB5 already.

Yes i know what you mean

Having read the thread on people's experiences last year I can't see that this new format will produce better results

however as a PR move it answers endemols critics in terms of selecting 'interesting' contestants

However i still think the big issue is how to stop the public voting out the most interesting people - and by that i mean people that we don't necessarily like but who have the personality to provide good TV

Last year if fed, sissy, justine, Lisa and john tickle had been allowed to stay rather than contestants such as nush , Gos and scott who imo didn't contribute to entertaining TV, it would have been a very different programme

Endemol need to devise a way to avoid the big personalities going out first
