Can anyone help my son? He has to do a survey of who people want to win SCD this year. Unfortunately most of our acquaintances don't watch it(hard to believe I know!).

So, who do you want to win?
Many thanks.

There's the poll at the top of the page or omewhere there's the weekly one. There's a lot of numbers and different people there for a 10 year old though - when do they do percentages?

I can't decide between about 4 or 5 couples but for the purposes of your son's homework I will say:

Phil & Katya
Stunty

Ali & Brian.

When do they learn percentages?
I taught my class at YR 6 (i.e. 10 and 11 years old). There are questions on percentages in KS2 SATs when kids leave Primary!

What is the basis for this comment?

Are you a teacher? If so that really is scary.

If students don't learn percentages until A levels, when do they acquire a knowledge of calculus etc.

I did percentages at primary school, so I very much doubt it's true. Fair enough, I did my A Levels coming up to five years ago, but I refuse to believe that the education system has changed so dramatically that percentages are taught at least seven years further down the line than when I did them.

I rather suspect PorkSausage is having a pop at the popular subject of the state of the education system in this country.

btw as this is discrete data collected by a ten year old, percentages maybe involved but it will more likely be representing the data. May I suggest a nice pictogram with gliterballs.
