Discuss Your ~Hi-Fi~
What's your system like? Is it a standard all-in-one or have you invested in some heavy duty seperates?
Or is it all digital / computer based like mine? Discuss.

I've got a Project Debut turntable (about 5 years old) and separate Kenwood amp, equaliser, tuner, CD player and speakers (all about 16 years old) with a Cambridge Audio ID10 iPod dock (1 year old) plugged into it. Sounds great after all these years.

Dell Mini 9 running Foobar2000 > Musiland 01USD > Behringer DEQ2496 > AVI ADM 9.1s > 2* BK Electronics XLS200-DF
Listening is practically nearfield, with DIY rockwall absorbtion panels at all first reflection points and in the room corners for bass traps Music is stored on a server in another room |

I have a Hi-Fi... actually I have 2... but they havent been used for years. The oldest one is an Aiwa NSX-330 mini system which I bought new in 1992, and the other one is a Sony CMT-CP101 micro system which I bought new in 2003.
I don't use them any more as I play everything I want to hear through my PC, or on the DVD player through the TV. They're both packed away in their original boxes in perfect working order waiting for a BBC program to come along in the future that might require some period electronics...

The only time I use a CD player is in the car, the rest of the time its my Ipod or laptop. We have a couple of CD players but they're jut gathering dust now as the computers do a perfectly good job. Same with the DVD player - we have one connected to the TV but we rarely use it.
