Well what a cock up this week, the show is delayed for 20 minutes so they could show you it raining for the F1 and it was not even the race!!

I set my Sky+ box went to work and the show ended before we even got to the 'moment of truth' bit.

I think we all should demand a repeat of the programme, I have already been in touch with the BBC via e-mail.

I'm sure there will be many Strictly fans who could not watch 'live' and will be in the same boat.

Come on moan to the BBC for a repeat why should we have to watch online (my internet does not always run fast enough to run i player anyway)

One fed up Strictly viewer - Been on nights so going to sulk in bed!!!

Can't understand why they don't repeat Strictly on a Sunday - after all, they repeat everything else.

You could watch the last 20mins by fast forwarding on BBC Player I did last night .

As I said my internet is not always fast enough to run I player but I only have a small screen net book.

I always look forward to Strictly so the BBC has ruined my weekend just because I went to work.

I think a repeat would be a great idea. As was said, they repeat a lot of other stuff. They could do it around midday on Sunday.

There are a lot of us who can't acceess iPlayer. Luckily, I was watching live last night but I often record and watch later. I would have been very annoyed to miss the end of the show had I recorded it last night.

I set up my Sky+ to record and it recorded the whole show.

I watch it on iplayer if I can't watch it live (like last night when it clashed with the Speedway on skysports). Don't have any problems with the quality on iplayer.

But I do find it strange that it isn't repeated. Even if there's no space on the BBC1 scheduling they could repeat it on BBC3 or BBC4 which no one ever watches because they have nothing on.

Luckily mine did too or my husband would have thrown a strop when he got in from work!

However I agree with the OP. It's one of the BBC's best rated shows yet they don't give viewers a chance to watch it again? Ridiculous.

I've always wondered why they don't repeat it and it really strikes me as curious because I thought they were going to do it this year when they repeated the first (Friday) show on BBC2 on the Saturday but then didn't do it the week after. Also, how many times do they repeat DTWS on watch? This week they have shown it Friday, Saturday morning and are further repeating it tomorrow night

If you download it all before watching then the speed of your connection won't affect you while you are watching.

You've accidentally switched on the Good Taste filter.

I think they don't repeat it for the same reason you can't get DVDs of it - royalties.
I guess it would be v expensive to repeat.

The delay was ridiculous and I said at the time that people who had set their recorders would be gutted. The BBC needs to engage its brain once in a while. All we had from 7.15pm to 7.30m was mind numbing filler. What on earth was the point of that?

Yeah, I guess. ITV repeats X Factor umpteen times, though - the Beeb should just grit their teeth and pay up.

Sorry if its a silly question but who would they have to pay royalties too?

They used to show a slightly edited version on BBC2 on a Sun. Don't know why they stopped. They repeat loads of less popular programmes . I bet BBC2 would get it's biggest audience for the repeats. I always try and watch it live as well as recording it, and love to watch it a few times.

It's over 2 hours long and the F1 is already long enough...

As I understand it - because it's live music they have to pay royalties for the songs & to all the musicians every time they're shown.

If you have cable you can get it on 'catch up tv', all the shows are on there from 18/9 as well as ITT.

The BBC's Response

BBC One and BBC Two do not take the decision to change their schedules lightly and only do so after consideration of the potential impact on audiences. We regret the inconvenience caused to those who were waiting for Strictly Come Dancing to come on BBC One or for Life which was dropped from our schedules on BBC Two.

The Brazilian Grand Prix qualifying session in Interlagos was halted due to the torrential rain and as we approached the scheduled time for Strictly Come Dancing, we were still waiting to see if the cars would return on the track to resume the session. We were still hopeful we could finish the qualifying session but when conditions did not improve by 7:30pm we switched our coverage to BBC Two.

Switching our coverage to BBC Two meant that the repeat of Life was dropped, however this is available to watch again on the BBC iPlayer until 21 December.

The qualifying session was one of the longest ever undertaken in Formula One's history lasting almost three hours and we felt that it was important to stay with the coverage as it was critical in context of the world championship, particularly for the then hopeful, Jenson Button.

Like any sporting event we cover, audience opinion will vary although in this case the qualifying session was crucial to British success in the competition, therefore audiences will have expected us to continue with the coverage.

We make every effort to inform viewers of any changes to our schedules but we regret any inconvenience or disappointment caused as a result.

To be honest, I don't understand why anyone is complaining via the internet as it implies that you have web access. The BBC used to repeat Strictly on Sundays until iPlayer was released. Now all you need to do is download the programme and watch it. Not really a problem, and it saves huge amounts on royalties.
