For me, that is possibly the best song of the 90s - something very eerie about it.

A few honourable mentions ..

Baz Luhrmann - Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)

White Town - Your Woman

Everything But The Girl - Missing

Gala - Freed from Desire

Rod Stewart the mowtown song.
Reminds me of a car my father had and eating frosties and possibly push pops at the beach.

So can anyone name any hits from the 90s, I'd prefer ones that were top 40 hits, but I'm not fussed on the genre, hip hop, rave, britpop or even regular pop - hit me with it.

Some examples...

Donna Lewis - I love you always forever
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tk4-e9dnGUQ

Utah Saints - Something good
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUxhNWDlGts

Kris Kross - Jump
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-K3irNgcaA

Ace of Base - Lucky Love
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ofu1Mg2JuOQ

So yeah, anything (fairly) mainstream from the 90s, please feel to free to add your faovurite, and any other that spring to mind.

Cheers,”

No accounting for taste I know, but may I throw in IMO, St. Etienne's finest chart hour:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7OgV4F7JzVc

Wendy Moten's ace 1993 big top 10 soul-ballad, notable on shows like X-Factor et al only by its inexplicable absence:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCcHZ2_p7MA

and finally Rosie Gaines' classically, surreally gobbling-turkey-throated 1997 dance hit:

erm...am i missing something? the thread title is 'forgotten' tracks of the 90's.... are the lists posted here REALLY 'forgotten'?..

i was expecting tracks like 'flagpole sitta' (harvey danger), 'strumpet' (my lifes story), 'indie yarn' (trick baby) and 'dark therapy' (echobelly) ... minor hits that most HAVE possibly 'forgotten'... not major hits that are still being aired on mtv.

Does it really matter that much Mr Pedantic?

Oh I see, you wanted others to be impressed by and indulge you in your 'esoteric and eclectic name-dropping' tastes.

Yes I remember Strumpet, but I was more for The King of Kissingdom myself. I would prefer MLS's 'Duchess' cover overall though, but then I suppose that would be too 'mainstream'.

Would it be appropriate to confess to having been a minor Kenickie fan?

well - if you read the original OP it was:

I think all the songs posted fit what the OP was asking for but if you want to add more obscure ones then there's nothing stopping you from doing that

taken

I would probably end up hijacking the similar 80s thread (except a little less vocally!) doing exactly the same, unless I restrain myself.
