I think Split Enz were a magnificent band, but think it's such a shame they never really became that known here in the UK (I know I personally never really discovered them until just a few years before they split up!) They released some wonderful music in the 70's and 80's and where quite ahead of the times with their musical style and off-the-wall, quirky videos too. They were original and inventive, especially in their earlier 70's days. I think they should have been huge in the UK but sadly that was never to be!
The wonderful Finn brothers rightly get praised for their work in Crowded House and their solo stuff, but it's such a shame that Split Enz seem to be overlooked by so many. I know whenever I mention them to people I nearly always get a "who?" response!
