Wasnt it sweet??
I was yelling at the TV. 'OMG Ashley, what the hell are you doing in the pub, when the woman you love is about to leaveeeeeeee'.

Then when he ran after the car, and as the camera started to pan around, I thought, 'I just know she's gonna be standing in the shop.' lol

Awwww, hope this relationship lasts and they have no problems but knowing soapland it will end in tragedy or disaster.

Yes - Claire standing the the shop was a bit contrived but very touching all the same. The best scenes were the one with Claire & Joshua in his bedroom & the one in the butchers with Fred telling Ashley how Claire felt.

Well done to Julia Haworth, Steven Arnold & John Savident for some great acting.

Agreed - three fine actors plus good script writing made for excellent tv. We all knew it was fictional, but it still made our hearts glow

Sorry, but I did find it all a bit irritating. Ashley needs someone a lot more fun and fiesty.

Claire could also do with someone with a bit more fire, like a younger Steve McDonald.

Did anyone notice that Claire's 'replacement' could have been her twin only with bigger boobs? What are they going to do with her? They have to let her down now.

She will go with the other family (I think), or drag Ashley through the courts for unfair dismissal.

I think Claire's quite firm in her ideas. Remembering how she wouldn't let Fred feed Joshua his Dracula pies? I think we'll see her character start to develope a lot more now that her & Ashley at together. It won't be long before he's under the thumb!!

Mmmmm being snogged by Ashley with his Apron covered in blood and chopped raw meat and the smell of animal flesh on this hands. Yummy!

She will just disappear never to return....
I doubt she'd even seen her contract of employment yet, let alone started work so I doubt she'll have a case for unfair dismissal

Talk about dragging it out!

By the end of it, I felt like I had been watching for 10 hours rather than 1.

I was glad to see the end of it. It was getting very irritating!

I thought it was really sweet. I was nearly crying when she was talking to Joshua (who as had a head transplant)
I think it was a nice storyline after all the heartache that has been happening in Corrie and with whats to come with the fire and the death's that are coming it was nice and light hearted.

I wasn't paying attention much so I TOTALLY didn't think Claire would be standing in the shop - I thought that was absolutely brilliant!

I thought the camera was just panning round to get Ashley's reaction better and I was too busy watching him to see what he was doing!

I should really pay more attention, but I have to say, that's about the first time Corrie has actually surprised me with something like that!

Wasn't Roy's Rolls next door?

I didn't realise that the butchers was so close. I had always assumed it was further away than that.

Yes me too.. I'm wondering if we *were* meant to think it was elsewhere. Then someone who was dreaming up the Claire in the shop sequence thought, well as we've never made reference to its location, why NOT have it in the Street! So last night was the first shot we've seen of both shop and street together.

Last night was not the first time that we (or should I say, I) have seen the Butcher's shop, was actually on Coronation Street (or close by, it could be on an off-street).

I remember seeing the shop on several occasions, and automatically thought it was on the Street or close by anyways.

It's on Rosamund Street, surely?

It's busy that Rosamund Street is, which is why it has a proper GMPTE bus stop and everyfin'.

Didn't they buy the shop when they built the new street in Corrie a few years back. It's just of the side road. It was when they dug up Natalie's son and thought it was Fred's great uncle or something. At the same time they built Sally's shop that set on fire (and has now disapeared) Roy's Rolls because they moved from where it used to be, The Cabbie place and also the Doctors Surgery. I think Duggy helped build it along with Steve Macdonald.

Wow Vicky, you have an impressive memory. You definitely deserve today's Coronation Street General Knowledge award!

Thanks It's the only soap I watch and I watch it religiously so I remember weird stuff about it like that. And now I watch them on Granada+ as well so I'm getting worse lol.

There's a map of the street in the "40 years of" book can't find it though!
It's weird how we have nothing more to do with the medical centre, or Freshco's and the bookie's (I saw the lights on in there the other day, probs the new owners. Or a burgler!) I mean whatever happened to Freshco's? I loved that big storyline with those thieves and Fred and Ashley and Alma and Mike Baldwin and that security guard we knew for less that 10 seconds!

Found it.

It's in Victoria Street, but I can't understand from the description, how it connects to Rosamund Street.

EDIT...found a link to an old map (takes a while to load):-

You mean the seige at Freshco's?
One of the bad guys was Linda Baldwin's brother, and Emma Watts shot him and he died.

Was a great storyline.
