After downloading the update I kept getting the message "emergency calls only" when trying to make a call, until I did a factory reset, not a good omen.

Now says V30.0.011, though checking the Nokia forum V31 is available somewhere out there.

No update here for O2. Does anyone know where to see a complete change log between v21.0.025 and this new version? I am particularly interested in any changes to Calendar functionality.

Well you can get the latest update to your 5800 by either changing the product code or using a program called Phoenix, head over to www.gsmhosting.com and look in their forums for more info.....

I'm with you Mr Ambassador, now if the new firmware was to include Adobe Flash Player 10 then that would be a different matter altogether!

Mines a SIM Free 5800, currently my software version is 31.0.008, which i installed on 23rd sept
I check for/download updates directly from the phone over wifi...find this easier and a bit more flexible. Anyway, on the whole I've only seen some improved stability and perhaps a little faster too. Unfortunately, Nokia have still to release a VOIP app or the Internet Radio app for the 5800, so those who have not updated yet are not missing much! |

The new update (v30) is just a bug fix, stops the phone from being slow, and freezing. Its a must-have!
Some people have reported that they get problems when they do the update, but they may not have done the update correctly (could have been interupted), because most people have said it works great and has made their phone alot faster than usual with no freezes at all. About the network delays; they all check the firmware before they aprove it to be updated on their phones, which i find stupid because they always approve them, and if they didnt check them first, what harm would it do ![]() I'm on t-mobile and when the v21 firmware came out, it took a few months for me to get it. |
