How long will Cheryl Cole's massive music success continue?
I love Cheryl Cole and I really do think she is a great performer but how long do you think her success in the music buisness will continue?
Obviously Fight For This Love is set to be the biggest selling song of 2009 and number one single on Sunday. But how long can Cheryl hold on to her huge success in the industry? In the eyes of the British public, she can do no wrong and is often known as "The Nation's Sweetheart". But will Cheryl get no.1 after no.1????? And if so, for how much longer? |

As long as she is on the x factor, she will see some degree of success. The amount of attention that show gets is incredible. To be able to perform on there AND be a judge on the show is a hell of a lot of promotion.

As long as she is on the X Factor and a part of Girls Aloud she is almost guaranteed success, assuming she keeps to the same standard. However when any of these go away she'll have to step up her game and start taking risks. I don't think she has much to worry about, her album is solid and has a few potential hits.

Three words is truly awful (the song) i've heard some of her album tracks and they're all ''OK'' none are ''WOW''

Probably a year musically, then GA are regrouping and putting out their next album, so I guess just as long as she promotes it? She DOES have a massive fanbase, even if it's the quite the contrary on here lol
![]() I personally think it will only last for one album. After Heartbreaker, we learnt what style of music Cheryl really liked, and obviously she wouldn't be able to do a lot of the stuff on 3W with GA. I reckon now she's given it a go, she'll be happy with it and leave it be. I can't really see her going down the 'street dancing' & RnB route when she's in her mid 30s or older. |

I think as soon as the X-Factor stops for the year, she'll then start experiencing difficulties with selling her singles. I think her solo track in this series was just basically an advertisement for the show.

She is lucky she has X Factor but you are only as big as the next passing phase.
As soon as a new, hot, younger and sexy pop star comes along to rival her then her status will begin to fall. The Spice Girls are the best example of this. They all had huge solo single sales at the beginning just like Cheryl did, granted they didn't have X Factor mind so its more of a merit for them, but their success passed to the young guns just like Cheryl's will. |

As long as she performs it on the xfactor. Im guessing her next song will be released a year later in time for the xfactor.
Going on the beatles tour, you realise just how crap music is nowadays and how little excitement there is in the music industry. |

I hope she carries on with success. But does not rush and get all the singles out the way. I have found with Girls Aloud they release 3 singles, do a tour and then release another album.

Well she'll be back with Girls Aloud next autumn so there isn't a massive timeframe in which to bombard us with singles. There'll be three, max. '3 Words' is definitely next (in January, I think) and I can see that doing quite well. Then it's a toss-up between 'Parachute' and 'Stand Up' for the third single, both of which could be hits. I think she'll do well outside of X Factor season as well.

It'll probably cause rifts with Girls Aloud, they'll split, she'll get big headed... have a successful first album then end up flopping.
The only reason this song is doing so well if the Xfactor. |

Girls Aloud have their next album out next autumn, which will probably once again be promoted on the The X Factor.
To be honest, I think she is just doing it for the hell of it/because she can. If it's a success then great but if it's not - no big deal, it was an experience and she'll continue with GA. I'm more interested in Nadine's solo material - anyone heard anything? I know she is recording in LA at the moment! |

The problem with acts like Cheryl Cole, is that the target demographic grows up and finds something else to listen to. The same kids buying the single today will be denying all knowledge of her in a few years.
There's only so far you can stretch being attractive and on TV a lot without any actual product to back it up. |

I'm sure she'll get by for a while, with her little friends the media and x-factor, but if there's a backlash on it's way, it won't be pretty and it's a hell of a height to fall from.

That ^^ is the biggest problem for Cheryl. She has been built up to such a height by the media that you just know they are going to turn and they will try to distroy her once it happens.

I think she'll do really well with this album, do really well with GA's next album then start a family by then she'll be what 28 and she's always maintained she wanted to be a young mum so i think her first solo album will be her only solo album for a long unless of course she gets divorced then its all up in the air.
In all honestly i see a divorce happening before a baby but who am i to say so

Its possible a divorce could trigger a press backlash.
I personally think the next Girls Aloud album will be the last. Cheryl is clearly having more success as a solo artist. I bet Simon is telling her to leave the group behind to move forward. He made Dermot quit BB for similar reasons. |

Depending on the reasons, if she breaks it off people will be fanning over her because she's done the right thing and she'll still be on this pedestal she's been on from she stayed with Ashley (don't even get me started on that topic). But i personally don't see any reason for a divorce that would knock her success off even a little.
I do agree with the GA album though, i'd say they'll release one more, then a GH and then maybe a remix album or something to see out their contract. |

I kinda want GA to break up. They are successful and it would be nice to go out on top considering the huge success of Out of control and a brit award to top it all.
