The Rakes split
Just been announced that The Rakes have split up and their forthcoming UK & US shows have been cancelled.
The latest album wasn't the best, but it's still a shame, they were tremendous fun to go and watch live. Their debut, Capture/Release, easily is in my top ten albums of the decade. |

A real pity, their first album was particularly great. They along with Bloc Party, The Futureheads, The Cribs etc made proper post-punk influenced indie instead of the disposable guff which surrounded them. Unfortunately i never got to see them live despite having many opportunities.
