Ah, this thread is like my academic career! I've been taught French, Spanish, German, Italian, Latin, Ancient Greek, Japanese and Catalan... but I'm pretty rubbish at most of them now!

I can only really remember French, with parts of Spanish. Italian and German are burried in there somewhere (I think ).

But not the samba-tastic kind. Dearie me, no!! No. Woe. And thrice woe.

Yeah, my Spanish is pretty good, my French is there too, and Japanese and Catalan are the most recent ones I've learnt, but I'd really struggle with most of the rest . Except reading.

But why the capitalisation?

Surely only for nouns. E.g. Der Geist des Tanzen ist sehr wichtig.

I love the Latin! My favourite is vasta, vastas, vastat, vastamus, vastatis, vastant - or something like that! I didn't even know what 'to lay waste' in meant English when I was eleven!

Waere es nicht besser "des Tanzens" zu schreiben?

Oh God. Not more grammar pedantry infiltrating SCD. And now in multi-lingual form. Save us Ladee Alesha of the wanton grammar abandon.

These sambas could be hellish. Oh yes.

I couldn't remember when it was, just that it was sometime during the series! I wondered if it was while you were meeting Mickey!
