Will contain no lifts as according to Natalie "he is too short to lift me".

So not because she is a great big heffer.

Maybe because they don't need to go for the showstopping lifts to distract from the fact that they can't dance?

No, it isn't and if you watched ITT last night you would know that.

That's a bit unkind

Yeah, I ignored it.

Some people just want to get a rise. The OPs post is not actually about Natalie, if you get my meaning

I wondered how long it would take before this type of thread reared its ugly head.

Move on please, nothing to see here.

To be honest, I dont think an AS is quite an AS without lifts.

There are lfts which Vincent could work in if height is a problem - he could use 'low lifts' to give an AS effect -they dont have to be overgead lifts to be dramatic.

Cant see why he cant add these in.

Hardly think weight is an issue -Natalie sint that big -certainly Darren lifted Letitia with apparent ease.

I don't think it's that Natalie is a "heffer" - it's just that Vincent really is very tiny. He's smaller than some of the female pros and quite a few of the female contestants. He's not just short, but extremely slender. Darren is either the same height as him or a little taller, but he's built a lot thicker. Letitia was also smaller than Natalie.

Hmm. I always saw the lifts as an extra myself.

Luckily for Natalie and Vincent, the lifts aren't the only thing to set the AS apart from the dance it's based on - there's also the ratio of the dance out of hold.

I know I'd rather watch a good AS without lifts than one which was lift crazy and spoiled the feel of the dance, myself. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt for now - ask me again later this evening.

The lifts sometimes spoil the AS for me. The dance is proceeding beautifully and then the female dancer is wooshed into the air in some athletic pose that has no bearing on the dance at all, then back down and on with the actual dance

I would rather see a lovely AS danced well without lifts than a gymnastic display

Her weight may be a factor but height is an issue too. Compared to his previous partners, Natalie is nearest to Vincent's height. IIRC, Matthew Cutler had issues lifting Alesha because she was fairly tall and he was used to smaller partners.

I don't think Jodie and Ian did lifts last year either. I think it's more height than weight though, if you're the same height lifts probably wouldn't look as effective. Also Natalie may feel self concious about being lifted, if it went wrong technically the press would blame her weight. I think Vincent's made a wise decision

Both are probably an issue although I've seen Nat in the flesh and it's true what they say about the camera adding plounds she looks slimer in real life. Vincent's cuter in person too. Argee too about the AS being about more than lifts too. I'm looking forward to their AS.

I also think they are aware of all the talk of Natalie's weight etc. and people making cruel remarks (heffer ) and so they've decided to take the issue out of the equation and do what they do best. Dance.

Vincent is a genius at making the right decisions for his partners.

I love Natalie. And that is some feat considering I put Vinthenth lower on my Christmas-list than Idi Amin (and he's dead!).

I was sooo tempted to post this but I avoid the GP threads on the Beeb like the plague and didn't want to appear hypocritical.

Well done you. I dislike mis-spelled insults.
