I'm not very keen on the lifts, especially the more extreme ones which put me in mind of a circus act (rather than a nice romantic and sophisticated dance). So I will be quite happy to see an AS without them (for whatever reason).

To be honest, I dont think an AS is quite an AS without lifts.
To be honest, I don't think a dance is a dance when you have to add lifts in to it.

They even make Argentine Tango look ugly, and that takes some doing.

So not because she is a great big heffer.
Simon? Richard? Eric?

Oh, wait:
Ah, I see.

So, the post was both insulting and illiterate.

You don't write for the Mail do you?

I am really looking forward to this dance because I think it is a great dance for an actress. I do wish people would stop alluding to Natalie's size all the time. Guess what, we are not all size 8s!

I don't think it's that Natalie is a "heffer" - it's just that Vincent really is very tiny. He's smaller than some of the female pros and quite a few of the female contestants. He's not just short, but extremely slender. Darren is either the same height as him or a little taller, but he's built a lot thicker. Letitia was also smaller than Natalie.
Spot on.

Will contain no lifts as according to Natalie "he is too short to lift me".

So not because she is a great big heffer.
I was thinking of posting the same......

What is a heffer?

Is it a playboy chick who lives on the Hugh Hefner estate?

Heffer? I know not of such a thing.

The OP's wrong anyway, as Natalie actually said 'Vincent can lift me OK, but it looks a bit odd because he's so short' (which Vincent changed to 'not tall enough' )

I'm all for a decently-danced, attractive performance that doesn't have shedloads of lifts in it just for the sake of it.

Anyone who watched Lisa Snowdon's showdance should be aware that lifts alone are hardly a guarantee of a great dance (and if anyone looked like a 'heffer' in lift, it was the model-shaped Lisa - Brendan looked like he was hefting a sparkly bag of spuds throughout).

American Smooths on SCD never have shedloads of lifts, because they're limited to 2.

Except that he didn't.

She made a point about her size, so why can't we?

We can indeed.

But if we start insulting people by comparing them to dead journalists, aren't we getting a bit too surreal?

I don't like to quote and then amend someone's post without making it clear (that would be just rude )

I can't remember where I picked it up from!

I must admit, I was a touch disappointed.

Natalie wasn't her usual self tonight. She looked a bit tentative.

Thank goodness they're through. I thought I was going to lose them!

Ah well, I'm not down with the lingo like you cool cats are, you know?

So it wasn't illiterate, she was just being called:

You're putting words in the OP's mouth.

Interesting that you picked that definition, though, rather than, say:

A really conceited girl. A chick with a very nasty attitude.

Anyway, Natalie raised the issue of her size, and she expects to benefit from it too.
