I think the reasons are
a. the new scoring system
b. Dancing first
c. the blackpool vote
d. the making sure Zoe wasnt in the dance off vote
e. We just didnt vote for Jade vote.
f. Wearing an awful outfit.

Best Samba of the night for me, and undermarked IMO. The only other one which came close was Ricky W, but it was with a few mistakes, timing issues, alot of salsa in there, a lower key performance, quite a few criticisms from the judges, and STILL scored as highly. It's as if the judges have already decided he's the golden one, along with Zoe, and Jade isn't. No disrpespect to Zoe, but it was a safe and boring AS IMO. Why did the judges wax lyrical about the dance, only to have one tiny criticism, and still only give it 8s? Bizarre.

I voted for them as I thought they deserved recognition more than anyone else tonight.

Edit: And another thing: What was all the bigging up 'Poor Ricky' with his injury, him finding it difficult this week etc.. When Jade popped a rib, we hear jack about it. She just had some physio and got on with it.

more forgettable than Craig??
Its just like last year, before too long someone good will go while craig stays. He is an awful dancer and I wish he would shut up about getting to Blackpool. Jade should not have been in the dance off tonight .... he should have been.

I was surprised about her being bottom two to be honest - I thought her samba was very good.

Hopefully, her being in the bottom two will spur people who like her to vote for her though.

Agreed!!!

The judges seem to be a bit dismissive of Jade - I don't know why? The only one who seems enthused is Bruno.

i cant get over the surprised look on his face when the judges say how bad he is, does he honestly think he is any good?

I really like Jade and Ian - my favourites behind Ali and Brian. Enjoyed their Samba - but going first didn't do them any favours. I think she's better than Zoe when she's at her best - *shock horror*

I'm sure her performing first was a hindrance. I wasn't entirely surprised....when it came down to the last 3 couples though I was thinking 'Oh my gosh is Ricky gonna be in the dance-off !?'

Why was she in the dance off?

She was in a "safe position"
But her dance was early...
...and not memorable enough to linger
The judges weren't bigging her up
She didn't beg like Craig
She's not in a TV soap every week.

Just like Zoe last week really.

I certainly don't think he realises how bad he is.

Beats me, too. They seem much more taken with the Lay-dees - Zoe, Ali, Laila. Goodness knows why.

They also gave her a lousy VT. Anybody that hasn't watched ITT this year would just think she's a stroppy so & so.

I wonder why the producers did that?

It's the Denise Lewis syndrome all over again. Women who compete for a living (i.e. sportswomen) are seen as too competitive by Strictly viewers. But sportsmen are seen as blokes having a bit of a laugh.
Double standards.

Perhaps to help Jade into the dance-off so that Jo/Craig/Phil would be history?

I agree with all you have said, particularly the injury bit! Maybe this will jolt the judges to match their marks to their comments next week!

Yep, people were already saying she was arrogant and over competitive before the series had even started and she hasn't behaved like that all but I think that's how people will always see her because the Strictly audience doesn't like competitive women.

It bugs me as well that the sportsmen are always given credit for doing something out of there comfort zone but the sportswomen never are.

I take heart from the knowledge that Denise eventually managed to win over many of the viewers and, had she not been head to head with an exceptional opponent in Jill, would have won.

I have never been keen on the athletic type sports people. They seem super obsessed as opposed to the Darren Gough/Phil Tufnell types who are a bit jokey.

BUT...I love Jade. She is great. I have enjoyed all of her dances, and while I don't like the samba and thought her outfit was awful, I loved her performance tonught.

It is shocking she was in the bottom 2

I think that's the difference between athletes and team sportsmen. The former compete alone and are totally self contained - the latter are used to being one of the lads.

Yes, that may be it. I never got to like Denise Lewis (though as I was a huge Jill fan I was maybe biased) because she seemed scary.

Jade is a bit more relaxed, she seems to have a sense of humour and I love her ear rings. She is my second favourite

I was shocked to see Jade and Ian in the bottom two, they are one of my favourite couples and I thought they did really well tonight.

I agree that going first and her VT probably played a large part in that. It certainly wouldn't have endeared her to viewers to see her throwing a bit of a strop. Most regular viewers don't watch ITT and so their perception of the celebrity comes entirely from what they see on Saturday night and a VT like that was never going to do her any favours. I think Zoe has a similar problem actually, their personalities come across more on ITT and people aren't seeing that.

I couldn't understand why Jade and Ian were in the dance off. I like Jo Wood and think she has done well to stay in the competition as long as she has and I will miss her.
But I thought Jade and Ian were great. I loved the dance to "Independent Woman". Jade danced so well and she looekd great! Glad Jade and Ian are still in the competition. But didn't deserve to be in the bottom two.

Yes - Jade is definitely more outgoing and a little less intense than Denise.

But what a pity that the quality that makes them such great individual achievers - their intense focus and desire to succeed - is seen to be a negative.

No doubt the British public will see it differently if Jade manages to medal in 2012.

Such a pity.

I'm hoping that her being in the bottom two will mean people vote for her next week (like with Zoe), because I really don't think she's anywhere near deserving to leave yet (and at the moment think she could well be final material).

Quite. Then of course she'll get the public's full support.

Indeed.
