Mark Ramps and Karen had a major meltdown in their Rumba week but I think his popularity was so well established that he survived that (and a tabloid hit re. his marriage crisis too).
I must confess that, when Ian mentioned on ITT that they'd had a tricky Tuesday, I was intrigued. On seeing the VT on Saturday, instinctively, I felt sorry for Ian. I'm sure this would have had an effect on the casual Saturday night viewer and their vote would have suffered accordingly. |

What's the evidence that the judges were deliberately over- and under-marking, rather than giving marks they genuinely thought were deserved? Have they ever confessed to it in an interview, for example?

Im sure were due a "shock" eviction sooner or later...

Bruno confessed to marking Emma Bunton higher than he would have when he saw how the other judges had marked her in one of her dances. He said this was to give her what he thought was her justified overall score - to cancel out the lower scores - a clear case of overmarking.
We've already had one - Martina Hingis, week 1. |

Interesting. Jade and Ian the only couple to have twice danced 1st.
Ricky W always dances middle or end. I need a closer look at this. BB, your stats are a great resource. Thank you. ![]() Quote:
1st Ballroom though and 2nd of 12?

The rest had all given 7s (deservedly) but Bruno took it upon himself to give it a 9, as he thought his true score, an 8, wouldn't have compensated enough for their "apparent" undermarking. |

A similar thing happened to James and Zoe last week and I think that the dance off is partly the culprit. People won't vote as much if they think that their favourite will get through on a dance off but will vote a lot when they feel their favourite will get the chop if he(thinking of craig here) has to dance again.
The second possible reason is the new voting system whereby you can come last, yet get 4 points if there are enough ties on the leaderboard. This must surely help those at the bottom. Having said this I have not actually looked at the ins and outs of voting. |

I said to my mother, they should not have showed her arguing with Ian, now they will be in the bottom two. Lo and behold, they were. Lets hope the public forget about the strop next week.

I thought her routine was good, she danced well, but she has as much charisma as a wet trainer!!! Her outfit was horrible, i am surprised the race card hasnt been put out there, as it has before, with that actor guy a few series ago, with Heather Small and with the guy that was in rising damp!!!( i dont mean by the contestants but posters on forums) It was unfortunate, but so was Zoe last week, these results were shocking and i will NO MORE give sympathy votes, PROMISE!!!

People prefer losers. Correct in Britain, sadly. Probably the only thing I prefer about Americans is that they don't envy success and try to chop winners down.

Calling people "losers" because they don't dance as well as others is just offensive and isnt in keeping with the philosophy of the show.
I know this argument is done every year, but how well the contestants do on a Saturday night is only one part of many factors that go into making one contestant more enjoyable to watch than another. |

I wanted Zoe in the dance off to see Len and Craig do a limbo dance.

Me too - Lambada wasn't it? Zoe wouldn't have had to feel bad about it either; the correct couple would still have left and we would have had a novelty dance to compete in popularity with Brendan's 'showdance' (ahem) from last year. I would love a week where the Judges had to dance an outrageous number - just to break the tension ![]() Back to Jade's Samba - at last I have a dance that sticks in my mind for the correct reasons this year - loved it! |

![]() Their Samba was the best of the night imo but I thought there was something perculiar about her head position. Whether it was the hairstyle or not I don`t know but her neck/head seemed to be bent forward alot of the time. I haven`t seen anyone mention it apart from us at home - so will have to check to see if our tv isn`t lopsided
