When the contestants go back to Tess's room, she has cards where she sometimes reads off the judges comments. Tonight you got to see the card and it was typed up, surely if Tess (or an assistant) were making notes as the judges spoke, they would be hand written?

I suspect they were last week's comments and previous scores, rather than this week's comments.

yeah I know that she has stats on there as well but she often looks at her cards when saying to the contestants what the judges have just said to them

Tess is very reliant on cue cards and an auto cue. She cannot manage without them, unlike some of her previous co-hosts.

I understand her husband is too.

Maybe the typed info is older information, like previous scores and comments from the judges, reference to things they said in their VT, and the all important phone numbers; and she has one card for each couple?

And when she's looking at the card, 'reading' what the judges have said, she's actually being fed the comments through her ear-piece and the 'reading' is an act so she isn't staring into mid-air/blankly at the couple as she listens to the producer.

Or maybe she's remembered what the judges have said, and just looking over what she's going to say next re. VT comments / previous scores/ phone numbers etc.

I would think you could get the judges comments typed up very quickly, you wouldn't need to put all of it, just the main points. Maybe she only gets given the comments from the first two judges, they could be typed up while the last two judges are commenting

Evidently Strictly has hired a court stenographer, probably ferried by chauffeur.
