No disrespect to Jo Wood but, she's the type of contestant Anton is best suited to these days as he can ham it up and no-one can question him. If Laila had been teamed with Brendan I'm sure she would be getting the solid all round marks of people like Zoe and Ali.”

I'm not sure how true that is to be honest... I don't think she's very confident in her latin - though how much of that is Anton's input I don't think we'll ever know...

It's not just you! I feel the same. Can't warm to her at all. I don't think that Anton and her have gelled and they have one of the weakest partnerships in the comp. However, I think the producers are going to be quite reticent in showing any "negative" training footage between them after everything that happened, so we will no doubt see more pretence of them getting on.

Plus, Anton has had to cope with the orchestrated campaign being waged against him in the press, initiated by Laila, which must be distracting.”

True I don't have any evidence per se but, surely it's up to the pro to give the amateur confidence and not the other way around. When he's teaching her Ballroom they are both fantastic, but, the Latin (which is his weak discipline) we seem to see Anton joking around and making terrible excuses.

I wasn't aware there was an "orchestrated campaign" against Anton, let alone that it was initiated by Laila. Where is the evidence to back that claim up?

As I said above, it's up to the pro to instil confidence. Jo is not a good dancer but, Brendan managed to coax a performance out of her every week. Imagine what he could do with someone like Laila.

So you really think that was a performance from Jo last night?! Bless her, I think she's lovely and she's been a delight to the programme, just what it needs. But she barely remembered a step last night and those she did she executed badly or wrongly! And she was happy to admit it!

As for the campaign against Anton, I'd say four articles about the 'dress' remark was something of that ilk. We all saw it, we all know there was no offence, we all saw Laila laughing along with the rest of the audience but then there's the story about actually how upset she was about it. That didn't come from the BBC! Thankfully, at least one of the rags saw fit to withdraw its story upon realising that it was untrue and that the public didn't buy it either.

I like her. She's gorgeous and looks like a lot of fun. They give her the best outfits too - her jive may have been so-so last week but she was smokin' in that outfit.

When she's dancing she always looks like she seems mindful that she has a drink somewhere. Real party girl spirit.

Yes, I know what you're saying - but I don't think I mean confidence in terms of performance, necessarily. I think Laila prefers being in hold and at some point has decided she wouldn't be able to do out of hold - though whether Anton's given her that idea or not we don't know. I do agree, however, that it's Anton's job to make her believe she can do it.

I don't think she comes across that way, I think her and Anton have their issues, but they look like they have fun ultimately.

I think someone like Ricky W is taking it all far more seriously.

Not sure where the spoilt princess tag comes from. Two weeks running she's had a right bashing from the judges but has taken it on the chin. She comes across as quite dignified to me.”

I actually think his partner is worse. I can't take to the woman, but then as someone else said horses for courses.

I like her and couldn't believe she is 38.
She looks a lot younger. She looks a bit like Kim Kardashian.
She is the most interesting person on the show but she will not win.

I have to say I'm struggling to see this potential that everyone else claims to see in Laila.

She's beautiful, she's the right sort of shape, but that's about it for me. Right from the first tango she's looked to me to be hanging on to Anton for dear life, like she'd collapse if he let go. None of her other ballroom dances have had the confidence shown by the likes of Ali, Zoe and Ricky, despite her gaining similar marks to them, while Jade has made improvements in ballroom since her initial wobbly waltz that put her ahead of Laila too.

As for the Latin, she hasn't looked confident about any dance for a second, apart from the samba, which was (as pointed out elsewhere) not exactly filled with samba content.

I think the judges have read far too much into Anton's ability to get them out of trouble in the ballroom, and are blaming him for more of Laila's difficulties than is entirely fair.

But princessy? Nope, sorry. For me she's the female Craig - nice person, deeply, deeply dodgy dancer.

I dont she tries hard enough and relies on the sympathy vote of the public due to the anton backlash. She should be one of the top 4, there isnt a top 4 this year, the talent is total crap, only ali and rickki seam to be the front runners and ali is not giving it 100%either, Im more inclined to think the "we're in love" crap is the reason for that, these pros need to keep a pro relationship with these celebs instead of falling in and out of love every bloody season, that was joe & kristinas downfall too not that they would have got very far but certainly a bit further if it had been kept "professional".

Im not a lialia fan to be honest she just seams like a whinger to me who needs to do more, mind you antons choreographys not all that either which isnt helping.

Its been a disappointing season so far and i doubt its going to get much better. I thought the jives and sambas would have been good they were a total let down compared to previous seasons.

Thank god the pro dancing is still in the format.

If you are looking for someone to back why don't you back Craig?

Craig!!! are you mad, hes more wooden than my dining room table just like he was in corrie. Hes got zero charisma, Zero talent and is just too desparate.
Craig revel-horwoods got more chance of my vote.

Seriously though I think last years sargentgate has really tainted the whole thing now becuase as a general viewer I can see its not what it was. I cant really put a finger on it but somethings missing / not quite right and this years lack of talent is not helping either.
What name??

My take is that too many of them are doing a Sargent and relying on appealing for popularity, either hamming it up, selling a journey (Ricky G, Natalie, Tuffers) or appealing for sympathy (Craig, Joe) whilst not trying too hard to improve their dancing on the theory that everyone will feel sorry for them. Those who want to actually work and improve are outnumbered.
