It's not really off topic as this was part of the thread title. I was waiting to have my annual chuckle at Anton's pronunciation, and he did not disappoint.
What amuses me is not the mistake, but that Anton clearly thinks that he's getting one over on the rest by pronouncing it correctly. He just doesn't quite make it. It's hard to represent the Brazilian way of saying samba in English letters. It's something like saammhhba, the m is very breathy. Anton has too much 'aa' and not enough 'mm'.

Although I do not think Anton's latin is up to scratch especially in comparison to the other Professionals I do not think Laila is particularly good at Latin anyway. I'm not sure there is actual potential there. We've seen 3 dances the Cha, Cha, Jive and Samba. She forgot part of the steps in the Cha, Cha the Jive was a disaster and the Samba was ok. I'm not sure she can handle a faster pace, I think she is struggling and that's why I think Anton devised a very simple routine for her on Saturday. Very simple with no wow factor.
I think there is a problem with there with latin for Laila I really do. |

There really are some nasty people on these boards, aren't there?! Don't you have anything better to do? And all over a jolly, entertainment programme. Then again, I don't suppose we're seeing anything approaching a true representation of the 8m viewers' concensus here!
get back to the dancing. this was HUMOUR! |
